I'm not sure it will a big deal tho. The inter-cooler and associated parts can stay intact (except for one hose used to drain the coolant). The belts aren't that big of a deal. I think it would probably be a two hour job unless I need to buy a new fuel rail or injector gasket. I think the part that is a bummer is that I have to wait another day until I am able to boost this bitch!

Dropping mine off tomorrow for install. I'll be gone for a few days so it will be like Christmas when I get back.

Something I'll be mindful of when doing my install. Will need to get all new gaskets and seal instead of reusing. I don't want to do the job twice.

I took it apart. Luckily, I found it was the top injector on the passenger side that wasn't seated properly. I cleaned it up and took it for a test drive. 8lbs of boost feels really nice!

Hey guys I'm reposting this from the fj forum for any insight. I got the bd to work on the fj, I flashed the sc and made sure I was able to start the fj then flashed back to factory in case I had to drive around until this weekend when I'm doing the sc install.

Update. So today I tried taking the fj to work but it seemed like the fuel map or timing was off or something. When ever I give it gas it hesitates bad.. I don't know if this is due to me having a urd maf cal installed and not defaulting the fields, gadget at urd told me to do this prior but I don't think that would cause this. Or when I returned to stock I selected return to factory instead of using a stock tune which I created when doing the tune a b c mode. Will have to try a few things when I get home.

Do you guys think it might be the maf cal or something else? When I get home tonight going to try and set the maf cal fields to 10 and see what happens. Will basically be on my own with the holiday shutdown at both urd and bd.

Mine is doing this also. I get hesitation and stumbling that is very noticeable. I have also had a few P0101 codes since install of the SC, but have not had one in about a week so I am not sure if that fixed itself somehow. I am scheduled to get the ECU flash for the TRD SC from toyota on Friday morning and I hope that solves my problems.

I would start by eliminating variables. Put the MAF calibrator back to stock settings or remove it all together. Then retest.

Yeah mine is not even drivable, as soon as any gas pedal is involved it hesitates is an understatement. But I don't have any cel codes. And this is before sc is installed don't know if that matters or not.

Going to try that first thing when I get home.

AEM and Innovative are the two that most folks use. However, several members here are using PLX gauges or have had custom gauges made by SpeedHut. Tanabe is another outstanding option. When it comes to gauges, you definitely get what you pay for.

As mounting locations go, I think it's an even split between A-pillar or on top of the steering column cover. Out of the two, I'd go with the steering column option for the sole fact that the aftermarket A-pillar doesn't match the rest of the interior panels and it's pretty noticeable in my opinion. Of course, having a custom A-pillar made would probably eliminate any color discrepancy.

Wow, it sounds like yours is pretty bad. Mine runs decent as long as I don't lay into the throttle too hard.

I'm feeling more and more that it's a fuel delivery issue on my truck. I'm going to try testing the fuel pressure under load and see what it looks like. My Speedhut fuel pressure gauge isn't here yet so I'm going to have to get creative with a mechanical gauge to be able to view it while driving. Maybe I can make an extension hose. Or set up my GoPro to record the gauge as I drive.

Damn, you're going all out on those Speedhut gauges.

Have you looked reviewed the installation of that URD fuel pump?

Yup I can't even give it shit for gas without it stumbling..even when it's in park I can't. I saw that the bd has a fuel usage indicator gauge, it reports in gph not sure what it's using to get that info though.

I know. I ordered an oil pressure gauge too just for the hell of it. Hopefully I can fit them all where I want them.
    :fingerscrossed:

The URD pump install calls for replacing the accordion style hose on the pump with a regular rubber fuel hose. The way the hose runs, there is a pretty good chance that it could get a kink in it. I'm hoping that is not the case. But if it is, at least no further diagnosis will be needed.

That's why I want to test the fuel pressure first. If FP is good, I won't waste my time dropping the tank again.

    For the guys having issues:
    What is your setup?
    Stock using BD?
    CAI?
    MAF cal?

It's strange that there are people successfully running the BD flash and several having issues. Wonder if the year of the truck could make a difference?

I'm second guessing installing my SC this weekend if so many are having issues...

I hope I don't end up with gauges in the pillar, but if I do I'll find a better way to match the color.

The BD tune stated everything was successful, and I verified that the tune was there. I don't see any other tunes to compare to see if it is the issue.
