No you are correct, I went and looked as well pg 516 to pg 519 to page 601. I incorrectly referenced my experience with vehicle makes that use a similar procedure that I mentioned

I used Carista to kill the seat belt dinger. Anyone local to me is more than welcome to use my Carista to modify the software to their prefrences. Among other things i shut the silly auto door locks off and added a couple more blinks to the default 3 blinks on the quicky signal light.

Actually anybody in the Orlando area have the Carista app and willing to silence mine I'll pay. And before anyone comments I should just wear my seatbelt trust me I do. But my job when I'm not commuting to work has me in and out of my truck all day and only driving 5-10mph on non highway roads

Why not just have the dealer disable them. Its not illegal, its just an option only they have access to.

Go to another dealer? You must be very polite, I'd make a scene if they didn't do it.

If thats what it states then they are wrong. Works no prob on my Canuck Truck. Plug it in and let it do its magic. Works on all all my buddies newer Ford and Chevs here in Canada as well.

When I had my old vehicle the dealer killed the passenger seat chime since i would put tools on it. With my 2017 I used carista. Well worth the $$ http://amzn.to/2fpsaQP

    Try the old trick:

These instruction to turn off the seatbelt warning chime

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.

    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened

    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave your foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.

    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

Hahaha, I know exactly who you're talking about! I got a no seatbelt ticket 3 houses down from where I was staying from that officer. I used to buckle up as I was driving down the street, before I got on the main road. Too late! Lol

    Reserected from the dead.
First mod I do to all my Toyota vehicles. Lose that seat belt chime, add unlock all doors with one click and turn down the key in the ignition chime.

I don't know who started the liability bull shit about losing the seat belt chime. As long as you have the "no fat chicks" light on the dash, you are good.

If you are stupid and not wearing your belt in an accident, I don't know how you can think you can sue a manufacturer?

The car company lawyers are just gonna say that car came with seat belts, you chose not to wear it. GTFO.

That's what my dealer told me, only the dash light is needed for the liability. I really wish they would also have referred to it as a no fat chick's light.

Pull out gauge cluster. Locate speaker. Remove it.
