I'm buying this setup (bumps and flip kit) shortly. Everyone has raved about them. Also putting them in front.

X2. My 3.4 looked like it was starting to weep a bit back there. My old 22RE had this issue too. But on that I had to adjust the valves every 15k miles, so the cover was off and on frequently, and I think tended to loosen up. I would touch the bolt heads one in a while to check, and they usually could use a turn. But also rubber gasket, so I didn't go crazy on them.

Might also want to check you PCV valve and grommet. The grommets disintegrate, and IIRC, mine was doing this and I had a vague oil stain seeping back along the valve cover.

headbolts should NEVER need re-torquing once they've been properly torqued down. if they do, something is seriously wrong. on many engines (I don't know about Toyota), head bolts are stretch bolts, and single use.

engines where you have to remove the valve cover for regular adjustments, you probably should replace the valve cover gasket each time.

Did you provide pictures for what you wanted done? That helped the exhaust shop when I brought it to them.
