Lexington works out nicely for me. I'll be down for that next weekend I'd say

    Im working on it

just trying to find a spot with ample parking and somewhere we can sit where we dont have to yell to talk

also thinking of somewhere local we could drive out to afterwords to wheel a little

Not too much wheeling around the area that's too close to Lex

Nothing in Richmond. There's a very small creek area there but not really wheeling. You get out away from houses but that is about all.

Wildcat is in Livingston which is the closest "Off Road Park" besides Slade, but you have to pay and all that crappy junk.

Its $12. Some trails you wouldn't want to take a truck but some trails that taking a truck would be fine on. You don't see many vehicles out, mostly quads and UTV's, but you do see a couple jeeps and older yota's every so often.

I'll wheel wherever! Just not Rush since it's more expensive and some of us in our area say it isn't all that great anyway.

Once I'm done hunting this season, I can talk with the landowner and see if we could run his log roads. Not a long trip, but there are some challenging parts that I hate walking up/down lol. Gonna need a chainsaw or two as well.

Back in the early 1980's, when Taylorsville Lake State Park first opened, there were several fire roads left open for a few years. The locals sorta reamed 'em out. Not a real good thing on steep hilly ground. We were there this past Sunday afternoon. All the roads I could remember were all gated. It would be nice to have a decent place near Lexington/Louisville area, even if it wasn't real challenging....Just a place to drive on dirt..

No state parks with vehicle access?
All side roads in parks on this side are blocked off. And you don't pass GO or collect $200 if you're on them lol

Land Between the Lakes has plenty of dirt roads you can drive on. Hoosier National Forest (in Indiana) allow vehicle traffic. You just have to stay on the roads. Works out well for everyone. Just nothing close to us....

You could drive wild cat mountain, just have to watch for bikers and walkers and hope the river isn't too high.

    Be afraid...be VERY afraid!
Odd thing, I'm using my brother's 2001 Tundra access cab off-road, with an honest 34,000 miles on it!
