I almost bought a green Snowpeak TI single wall cup when I was at REI this weekend, but held off for now.

I've also tried one of the French press/travel mug combo deals...makes good coffee for sure. But with grounds in the bottom, if you don't drink it in a reasonable amount of time, the coffee gets bitter IMO.

Often, I want to make a mug for the campsite or at the truck if I'm sleeping in my bed, then I want a to go travel mug for the drive to secret fishing spots.

and they leak in the backcountry. Which makes them harder to bring. From experience. 3 friends and I were in the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) for 5 day trip. A buddy loved his morning coffee. Pushed it a little to hard down and the thing leaked from then on.

I want one of their IGT tables w/ 2 baja burners and a double cutting board. Butttttt, that's like $600. Too luxurious for my blood!

I dont drink coffee but i bought one of these for friends or family that do while camping or backpacking. Very light weight fits on a nalgene bottle and u can either put your grounds in the filter and pour hot water over or put your grounds in the bottle with the hot water and then pour off and the filter will catch the grounds kind of like cowboy coffee.G.S.I outdoors.GRE.jpg

Looking at this Aero Press & thinking...hmmmm, that's a lot of parts.

I'll give it a whirl, but I'm thinking a regular French press or that simple drip filter is perfect for car/cabin camping and the DIY single serve bags are the way to go for backpacking or more remote camping.

Don't get me wrong I like coffee too, but if that means 5 lbs of shit, plus the coffee, to do it I'll just skip it

I have an aeropress and love it. Recently took it on an 11 state, 4,600+ miles motorcycle trip. Was better than the jetboil French press my brother had brought along. I used the steel filter and pregrounded coffee. Takes up very little space.

This is pretty epic. I had no idea they made something like this. Might have to get one when I get a smaller Nalgene to use it on...I only have one and it's the giant 48oz

Ok, I finally caved and bought an Osprey Exos 58. It's like $164 on Amazon, and the blue one is even cheaper at $142! I'll keep my eyes peeled for any better deals over the next two days, though.

Pulled the trigger on the MSR Hubba Hubba NX2 and footprint. that covers shelter and packs now. next up, sleeping bags :)

Oh i have a question... so when i got my Osprey pack the other day the guy at REI said that he doesnt use a bladder for water becausw you cant see and keep track of how much is left and its a pain to fill... he recommended using 1L Nalgene bottles on the side pockets of the pack.

My concern with this suggestion mainly is the added weight of a nelgene bottle. they are practically 1/3 lb each. seems a 3L or 2L bladder is still best if you can train yourself on water consumption. or if anything, use a 1L soda bottle instead since it barely weighs just over 1oz. What does everyone do for water storage? also, i undestant that 3L of water is nearly 8lbs, but is it better to carry a little more then what might be needed? im worried that 2L wont be enough

1 L soda bottle, or even better a 1 L Smartwater bottle as it is long and skinny and fits many sidepockets better.

Buy one of those Smart Water bottles from the grocery store. I've found that they are a good shape for the side pockets of most packs. If drinkable water is not readily available, there are tons of lightweight filtration options on the market.

I started with 1L nalgene bottles then tried a 2 L camelback and i went back to the nalgene bottles. They're bombproof and dont add anything flavor wise. They mate up perfectly for use with my m.s.r. water filter . The camelback had a horrible plastic taste even after washing properly etc.

Let us know how the hubba hubba works out ive had my eye on one for the last 8 years or so, when my north face tent gives up that will be my next tent for sure. I have quite a few things from M.S.R. and there all great quality.

So I was looking for an easier way to keep everything organized for the "kitchen" when camping. Husky ended up providing an affordable solution. What do you guys think?
