This is exactly how my truck sounded when the upper uniballs were starting to go. It drove me crazy. I cleaned, lubed, and retorqued everything but still sounded like an asshole in drive thru. No sign of play in the uniballs at that point but it came soon after.

 

The snow won't help fix that problem

its pretty sad if the uniball is already going out, he's had this setup for only a couple of months.

 

Exactly what I was thinking...I just ordered my TC uniball uppers with the Mt setup.... got me nervous now....

 

Ouch. that is pretty early. the clay here eats mine quick, but I get around 20k miles out of a pair. it's become an annual spring maintenance item.

 

I've had it for 3 months.. probably about 5k miles if that.

 

Everyone else gets plenty of use, Dakota has had his for almost 2 years now I think. I wouldn't be, probably just a lemon

 

TC should have some kind of warranty right?

 

I wonder if the icon uniball ucas might be better since they have a sealed dustcap? I know it won't do you any good since your LT

 

Could just need the lube to work its way in there more. 5k sounds too soon.

 

For how much they cost I'd Def call and ask....if not ask the vendor you bought them from.

 

Oh when the time comes to replace them, get an AGM uniball tool. expensive but makes the process easy as pie. And considering how many times you'll use it if you keep that set up a while , it's a bargain really

 

I've had my kit for about 8 months now, never lubed and make 0 noise. I thought they were making noise, but it was my limit straps, fixed them noise was gone.

I find it hard to believe that its a uniball, but if it is i would contact TC and see if they stand behind the product they sell.

I highly doubt its a case of worn balls as much as shitty lube. That TriFlow is crap in cool weather, looks like baby batter and wont dissolve. I live in PHX and it gets maybe 30° here at the absolute coldest.

I switched to this stuff


SDHQ carries it for 25$, but im sure you can find it or a similar dry lube in an aerosol can. I really thought mine were going out but after a thorough cleaning with water, simple green and a rag and application of this stuff, they are quiet again.

The lowers definitely are harder to lube but I was told by Cliff that you can add a wd40 tip with straw. I haven't done that yet cause I had the tires off and good access when i cleaned.

 

If the uniballs are teflon lined why lube? I can see it maybe if you are in the silt and sand but idk enlighten me.
