What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Hey guys I was wondering I have a V6 and I was contemplating about getting the air raid throttle body spacer. Has anybody tried one and does it help with throttle response or improve on gas mileage?

 

yes, I have tried; and no it does not help - but it did make the gas pedal stick sometimes. pretty scary...

 

Thanks Monte! I was gonna run 1.25 spacers if I went that route. So if I had more shock to wheel travel wouldn't that mean I flex better? What's more practical for a daily?

Looking at buying an E-locker guard: Any cons to it? I've read that with enough flex you can bash your gas tank/skid.

Is this worth it? Are there other guards that are better? Thanks.

 

K&N cold air intake

 

I've used one in the past, wasn't an AP version but probably quite similar. I suppose they are good for piece of mind but I never touched mine. Now have a full BAMF diff diaper.

I just put my new shift knob on, I like it. It's a low range offroad shift knob.

Thanks man, I wanted something to make the inside a little cooler. And there's dirt and dust everywhere.

The Scangauge? I got it a few years back from Amazon.

 

Check and replace everything based on the 100K interval...big ones being water pump/timing belt/tensioner, seals, new drive belts. If u joints haven't been done, they usually start to get funky by then. you could do a fluid change for the driveline..front diff/t-case/trans/rear diff. Brake fluid/power steering flush and refill if your feeling inspired. Lift up the wheels and check for bearing noise... the rear bearings usually get funky by then too
