Yeah. Jason did my exhaust reroute. Great guy and great work, but I'm moving to Colorado and will probably not have money for a rack until after the move. Also, I already have a rack so it's not a huge priority. Good lookin' out though!

@Box Rocket whats the difference between the Kukenam and the Autana? Just the canopy covering the doorway?

Better to ask what I have not done.
Yes they are sliders for your bed, and they really suport the weight well because they are tied into the other side so that the rack its self has the triangulation to it.
My truck has slider bars that stick out a little bit further then phils and thats only because i have a tool box coming to sit on the sides.
:rofl:Tell you one tech spec and it goes to your head.. but yes i do not think that these bolts or the bed are going to go anywhere.
Where in denver? We are based just south of denver like @Gramps mentioned, so when you are ready for a rack like @PS78 let me know.

Sleeping area is the same. The canopy covering the ladder area is the main difference, but the Autana also includes the annex. Because the Kukenam doesn't have the extended canopy, if an annex is used with the Kukenam it is smaller and fits behind the ladder instead of enclosing the ladder area.

Awesome! We aren't certain yet, but it's nice to know I'll have a place to go for fabbing. Needing a CMC too!

    Thanks.

Same top cover fit for both?

There's an Autana locally for sale, but needs a new cover. Thinking about grabbing it and swapping covers, then selling mine.

I plan on trying a Mr. Buddy heater in the the a next room, hoping the heat will rise into the tent. That's why I'm thinking bout getting a cold weather cover from @Cascadia Tents to capture all the heat. I've used my mr. buddy in a ground tent before sleep and after waking up in a ground tent, but never on while sleeping. Mainly because I felt anything that touched the front of the heater would melt/burn and that would not be good if it did that in the middle of the night. There is a saftey feature if it gets bumped or falls over it will shut off. My plan is to suspend it on a ladder rung in the middle of the ladder, annex completely closed, and door to get in tent fully unzipped, with the hood over the tent. In theory it should work beautifully. Anybody think of a pro or con to this setup that I missed let me know.

Thanx will do. One concern eould be the amount of condensation it traps in the tent. Other than that question I'm ready to buy now! Especially with the Black Friday discount!

I'm going to be joining the club and buying a Tepui soon, but I wanted to see what you guys thought of the Ayer. I'm 6'1" and ~190lbs and am curious if it will reasonably fit me and another person my size. Sure, I could get a 3 person for more space, but the bed rack I'm getting will only support a tent and me +1. So basically I'd be paying another $400 or so (at least) for a little more comfort. I'm not looking for luxury, but if it will be flat out uncomfortable for me and a buddy or something to sleep in, I may need to consider the extra premium.

I have the Ayer and I'm 6ft 185lbs and it works fine. 2 people are comfortablely 3 super cramped, 1 person is like sleeping on a king mattress.

Not sure of the dimentions of the tent your looking at but I have a cvt mt Shasta so you can compare. I'm 6'3" 200 and my buddy is every bit of 6'5" and a little heavier than me and we both stayed in my tent from Philadelphia to Moab and back and never had an issue.
