    Are you going to trim the flares and reattach them also? If so, get new clips for them because you will break several taking them off. Mask off the bedside and fenders with good masking tape, same with the flares if you intend to cut them. I then make a marking gauge using a sharpie and a few scrap blocks of wood. Tape the sharpie to the scrap blocks at the height you want your line to be from the edge of the fender/bedside/flare, and run it around the edge. It will transfer the same shape, but at a depth of your choosing. I cut 2.5" off the fenders and bedsides and 2" off the flares. I used an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel to get the cuts started at the bottom, then a jigsaw with a fine tooth metal cutting blade to cut the bedsides and fenders. I came from both ends and tried to meet in the middle...don't do that. Start on one end and go all the way to the other side in one direction. For cutting the flares I found a Dewalt jigsaw blade that had a tooth profile like this:

    It cut through the flares with ease, and left a very clean edge. My plan after I put the high clearance bumper on is to cover all the edges with this trim. http://trailtoys.net/products/a-better-edge-trim

    I love reading all the different methods people use to get their mark. I did something similar but went even cheaper with 2 pencils and 3 pieces of cardboard and just stuck the pencils through the cardboard and ran it around the fender. I did the same thing for Jeremy's fenders.
