265/75/16 are $40 cheaper per tire than the 265/70/16. Why is the lager K O cheaper?

When things are to good to be true...
All I come up with is you go with a larger 31" taller tire go with the 275\70 and get a wider foot print while you are at it.
The 265\70 and 265\75 are the same witdth the 75 is just taller.

Wider footprint is worse mpg.. but 265/75/16 is biggest you can do without lifting... and $40 cheaper per tire. Like I said I don't get it

Btw 265/70 might give you actual mileage, 265/75 for KO2 will NOT

You'll find that difference in every brand of tire. The 265/75/16 is a much more common size. 265/70/16's only come from the factory on a handful of vehicles and almost no one replaces them with that size after they wear out. Go with 265/75/16's and don't look back

265/75/16 is the same width as 265/70/16, it is just 1" taller. FWIW, my trucks speedometer was always off by 3 mph with the factory tires compared to my GPS. When I went to 265/75/16's it is now accurate. I noted zero difference in fuel mileage or power.

    I'm replacing a set of 265/70/16 KO's on my 08.
Over 60,000 miles and has been a great tire. I'm looking to put more meat in the fender well. I think it will be the 265/75 over the 275/70.

265/70 will read accurately on your odometer, but your speedometer will be off. With 265/75 it is the opposite. Your speedometer will be accurate, but your odometer will be a little off.

I had the same experience going from the stock 265/65r17 to 265/70r17 on my sport. The new tires were roughly 2% taller than the OEM tires. I went from my speedometer reading 1.5% faster than actual speed to reading less than .5% below actual speed. All checked by GPS.

The difference in the odometer is almost unmeasurable.

How can your odometer be right and speedometer be off? Ones calculated off the other? I've done enough road trips for work that pay per mileage I've used Google so I can get paid correctly. And my speedometer is off by 3 mph at 70 verified by multiple gps

Speedo is high from the factory and odo is dead on. Larger tires spin slower over the same distance as a smaller tire so then the speedo shows a slower speed that's now accurate and the odo shows a lower number. This is because the larger tire circumference causes the tires to have less revolutions over the same distance. Hope this makes sense:typing:

We assume odo is dead on IMO. 265/75/16 my odometer is wrong and my speedometer is wrong

It matched my gps and the road markings before I went slightly bigger on the tires.

    I love my BroFG KBro2s. 275/70/17. About $190 a tire.
