That makes sense but MA never really did pre-existing clauses. You really can't just drop and add at any time. Needs to be enrollment at your job (once a year) or other event (such as losing your insurance through someone else).

The real issue is the insurance was "reformed" and has to do more with less. But no changes were put on the other drivers of the healthcare system. Doctors..hospitals..ambulance..pharmaceuticals..want me to keep going?

When the company can charge $600 for an Epi pen and it's either shut up and pay or go without, then I think it's pretty clear we have much left to do on healthcare.

Happy Turkey Day! I was planning on running in a local turkey trot this morning, but overslept by about an hour and missed the start, Iol! oh well there's always next year

 

I have Blue Cross Blue Shield with a $250 deductible, I think. We were advised to not bother with the non-deductible plan because the extra cost of the plan over the course of a year is more than the deductible. And I think it only applies in a case like surgery or ER anyway.

They may have done that rather than a premium increase that would cost more than the deductible.

Come to think of it, mine may be $500 too. I'm not sure. I haven't been to a doctor in probably 10 years.

I absolutely agree with the rest. You couldn't buy case insurance after your car was in an accident (at least not that will cover that accident)...

I love how DD slogan is America runs on dunkin, but it's really just New England. Other parts of the country people go for the donutsor they don't have DD at all

 

Some are. I'll never forget 2005 Bird Day not finding one and then waiting 10 minutes in line en route to the hospital, only to arrive 2 minutes after my mother in law left us
