summer job help

    This summer i have a pretty much guaranteed job working as a camp director at camp davy crockett with the boyscouts. I am also applying to work out in colorado/new mexico/wyoming/alaska in the national forests doing trail maintenance and such. i would prefer to work on the national forests than the boyscout camp but i have not been hired/denied by them yet. should i tell the head director that i am applying for other jobs or just wait until i find out if i even get the jobs out west

    Wait... Unless it starts to get closer to time that they need you up there. Don't let them expect you then call a week ahead of time and say you're not coming. Give them a reasonable amount of time to replace you (use your judgement), but there's no need to tell them now, IMO.
