sounds like everyone likes Simms waders but they seem pricey to me.
    I need some chest waders.
I recently borrowed some LLBean and they were really nice.
What makes Simms worth the extra $$$?

    The name haha
I've used Simms chest waders for my job as a fish biologist but we switched over to Caddis waders to save money and they have been holding up great with the abuse we put them through

I generally prefer LL Bean products as I live 20 minutes from the flagship store in Freeport, ME. Not a fan of their waders. I recently returned a pair and bought a pair of Patagonia waders as I had a 40% of friends & family coupon.

I've never tried any other top shelf brand to truly compare apples to apples but I do know i love the 2 pairs I have owned thru my life.
I dunno maybe it's cause the company was founded on building the best waders or maybe cause they're from Montana lol

saw some caddis waders on sale for $99 at a local shop over my lunch break but they didn't have any other brands to compare side by side. They seemed thin. Going to check at Bass Pro after work to see about a side by side look at dif brands.

...^^^... My only experience with waders .....

.......... About 5 years ago I bought some inexpensive waders to work on the edge of the lake behind my house ... and a big snapping turtle took the toe out in one bite  ... but just missed getting my foot ... :)

interestingly, learned that not all Simms are made in USA. Some styles said "made in China" on the tag and have a 1-star review.

I generally prefer to buy the best quality stuff I can afford. However, on one of my trips this year, I sprung a leak and decided to just buy a pair quick to make it through the trip. They were frog tog brand breathable. I wore them all day for several days and must say I'm rather impressed with them. Very comfortable, light weight, and seem to be built well.

Haven't found a reason to replace them with "better" ones yet.

Any of you guys seen this kickstarter?

    https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1340596516/tiny-ten?ref=user_menu

It's for a small collapsible rod with no reel. A fly line with some tippet is tied to the end of the rod. It's not meant to replace your real fly rod, it's meant to be a compact setup for small fish that you can have with you when ever you go for a walk/hike.

Just thought I'd share, I backed it because I like the idea of throwing a small rod into my day hike bag. Sometimes a bit of spontaneous fishing is the most fun kind!

Really like it. Great way to fish.
Have never seen one this short before.

I have two in the truck that live there all the time.
