BTW, most processed Orange juice is loaded with more sugar than soda.

So, I'm redoing the suspension on the Ford, but not until next year. The guy who owns Halo Lifts was awesome to talk to and explained the difference between his suspension compoonents and the Fox brand ones I was considering (he sells Fox also). Big difference is lead times and his components are steel so you can adjust the shocks while the truck's weight is on the suspension. He also weather wraps his which is cool. Sucks I'll miss the Black Friday deal but I'll probably have new shocks and coilovers early next year.

Wish the rear shocks on the Tacoma mounted like they do on the Ferds

Well, we just arrived at the MIL's house in Pa. Nothing like driving through the Poconos 34F with ice pellets hitting the windshield.

Edit: correct the phone's autocorrect mistake

Agreed, I hate that stupid stem that the Tacoma uses. Looking at the videos, it looks like the fronts are about the same process as the Tacoma.

Does anyone here have experience replacing their front shocks? I have watched many YouTube videos and searched TW for information, but still not totally comfortable about doing it myself. I was hoping I could avoid paying someone, but thought maybe someone here has done it already.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Soda is my only vice (never even tried anything else...literally never tried alcohol before), I have been working on cutting down, but I like it a bunch.

We ended up picking up the new Jeep on Tuesday, we really like it. The wife absolutely LOVES it.

You have my respect for being so disciplined, but I'm trying to imagine never trying alcohol, haven't you been curious enough to taste something that is legal?

Honestly, no. I could understand the allure when I was younger, I guess, but at this point I'd just be trying it simply because people want me to, not because I have any desire to. It doesn't bother any of my friends, family or wife, and they all drink socially, so it's never been an issue. The only people who were offended by it or mocked me for it were people I decided to remove from my life.

    Maybe I'm just weird.

Hey to each their own = more power to you! If you are happy and it works for you, other's opinions shouldn't matter.

Nothing wrong with that. My cousin has never consumed before.

As a recovering alcoholic I can tell you some stories..but many people in my life drink socially

I agree, just because you have a preference on certain things that other don't, doesn't make them right and you wrong. Do whatever floats your boat, get you through the night and keep you above water....hahaha

Plenty of people have done it, the pain in the rear is compressing the spring. Personally, if I were to attempt it, I'd pull the coil over off the truck in one piece, and bring that and the new shock to a shop and have them swap the struts. The spring compressors the shops have are much more stout than the rental ones and I doubt you'd get charged much to do it.
Not weird at all. Plenty of Mormons do it. After I got out of college, I cut way, way back on drinking. Now, if I have 1 drink a month it's a lot. If you have a nice liquor or ale that you enjoy after a days work, that's one thing but I lost the allure of getting drunk. Also, toddlers don't understand the concept of being quiet because someone has a hangover

I planned on replacing my front shocks using this method on YouTube. What is your opinion on this method without a spring compressor here:

Exactly, makes it right for me. The bar isn't gonna close because I stopped drinking.

I visit a bar once a week because I play darts competitively, I just order a soda or water. If my wife goes out with her friends I drop them off and go watch TV at home, then drive them all home.

I've seen that method before but never used it. I would NOT loosen the lower control arm bolts though because you'll lose your alignment (you should probably get it aligned afterwards anyways but that will guarantee that you'll need an alignment). I've never used that method so I'm not sure what could go wrong. I just avoid working with the spring, all the tension freaks me out but that does seem straight forward.
