    Same as everybody else...
I had over 186k on my 99 Ranger, original clutch, starter and pretty much everything except for the alternator and battery. The most reliable vehicle I've ever owned by far, I gifted it to a buddy of mine who found himself without wheels. He replaced the brake lines, the victim of 17 years worth of winter and a few other small things. I hope the Prerunner I bought used is as good to me

I have a similar story, having a 1988 Nissan King Cab 4X4 as my previous truck. I owned it 18 years and never had the clutch replaced, but it only had 128,000 miles. That Nissan was one well made truck and I still miss it today.

Yeah they did. I wanted to keep it, but an extra cab is no good when you have a newborn.

I sold it for $5k after 11 years.

Wow, $5K -- I was going to ask you why you sold it, that makes sense now.

Back then, that was blue book. If I kept it another 3-5 years it would have been worth more. Sad.

Oh, and I only paid $16k for it.

    THE SHORT STORY:
Basically, a drunk customer at the bar where I work reached into the bed of my Tacoma while it was moving and grabbed a bag of ice. I didn't see it happen, but one of the bouncers did. As soon as the drunk guy saw the bouncer coming his way, he throws the bag of ice full force at my truck. He missed the bed entirely and the bag of ice hit the roof and went flying over the truck before landing on the ground near my right front tire.

I do have high-quality 1080p dashcam footage of this incident, both front and rear views. I really would like to post it on YouTube and Facebook, and obviously to Tacoma World. However, my mom doesn't think it's such a good idea, and I'm trying to convince her otherwise.

    THE LONG STORY:

Thanksgiving Eve is the biggest drinking night of the year, and the bar where I work inevitably ran out of ice. The general manager sent me to Wawa to get bags of ice, and on the way back, I made the dumb decision to drive down Printer's Alley instead of taking the back entrance. By this point, what little patience I had was gone, and I started laying on the horn to get drunk people out of the road. All the while I have my foot on the brake and am doing like 5 miles an hour. I had my window down and some drunk guy asked me what I was doing (meaning "Why are you coming down this crowded street beeping the horn?"). I told him I was transporting ice for the bar he was waiting to get into, to keep the beer cold.

While I was talking to this guy, unbeknownst to me, another drunk 20-something guy with his lady friend in tow reached right into the bed of my Tacoma while it was moving and grabbed a bag of ice out. My dual dashcams (one front, one rear) captured the whole whole thing. The ice thief grabbed the bag out of my Tacoma, shows it to his girlfriend with a dorky grin on his face, and tossed it up in the air a few times. He then loses his grip on the ice and drunkenly drops it. I still didn't see this happen and kept rolling down the alley.

Fortunately, one of the bouncers (also head of security at the bar) saw it happen. Again, I don't know how the hell I missed this, but the head bouncer tapped my right front fender to get my attention and I missed it and kept rolling.

The drunk guy sees the bouncer coming towards him, picks up the bag of ice from the road, and hurls full force it at my Tacoma with both hands. The bag completely missed the bed, hits the roof, goes flying over the windshield, and lands on the ground in front of my truck. Again, I missed the bag of ice flying over the windshield, but I did hear the impact of the bag hitting truck, followed by drunken wooing from the crowd. At this point, I slammed on the brakes, threw it in park, got out, and demanded to know "Who hit my Tacoma?" Those were my exact words. I had no idea it had been a whole bag of ice until I reviewed my dashcam footage later that night.

The bouncer (who I am friends with) picked up the bag of ice and put it in the bed, then told me to just get out of Printer's Alley and offload the ice before anything else happened. I did just that and no more Tacoma-related incidents took place that night.

Drunken douchebaggery at it's finest, folks!
