    1) Took my truck in to replace the steering rack bushings, apperantly they are so bad the have seized up into the steering rack and have to be torched out, therefore replacing the entire rack now... almost $850 in parts and labor.
    2) both front shocks are rusted at base and need replaced... $300 (billies installed)
    3) throw out bearing is so loud I can hear the squeak over the radio at a stop light ... might as well replaced the clutch while you have it out $1300 for clutch/fly/tob from urd plus $650 labor to install it
    4) trying to get a decent alignment on this truck requires upper control arms to get it to spec in my caster $475 for lr uca's and $250 installation
    5) my taco tick sound like a friggin diesel put the best Mobil 1 gold cap oil, shell premium fuel only, and put gas treatment in every 3 fill ups ... no money can fix this for good

Have been a long time Toyota product fan, but this truck has about done me in... only 77k on it ... and I'm about to take this in and trade it for something else ... is there any reason whatsoever to keep this?

I thought the tick was an emissions part or the injectors...... in which case no oil would ever change.

At 77k It would be time for maintenance on just about any vehicle. I would definitely think about that before trading

None of that is regular mainenance, I have put all new fluids in it, changed plugs... these are all irregularities... not regular mainenance. Except for shocks... and maybe uca from being lifted.

    Keep it.

Issue #1. Steering rack bushings are pressed in and always require force to remove/replace. I replaced mine in a couple hours with energy suspension bushings for about $60.
    #2 Aftermarket parts=self inflicted
#3 It's cheaper to buy a better radio and turn the volume up.
    #4 Aftermarket parts=self inflicted
#5 I had a semi-badass Lexus with direct injection that sounded like a diesel at times. I knew it was "normal" and wasn't going to blow up so I chalked it up as being the nature of the beast.
#6 Every vehicle will have its quirks and issues. Be glad it doesn't have a 6 liter power stroke...or even worse...a 3.5 liter from a 3gen.

Yes they may be pressed but they seized up so bad they can't be pushed/pulled out... shop tried for 3 hours... I was there for most of it watching... the clutch/tob is the biggest quirk... my 170k 4runner 4.7 never had an issue except regular maintenance.

I mean, wrench on it yourself or learn to and you'll save a ton of money. Sounds like a majority of what's making it a money pit is labor

TOB is a crap shoot. Some go, some don't. You've fixed it and installed a better clutch (your choice). The other stuff is wear and tear, and some is because you chose to lift it. There's no way I'd sell it after all that you've put into it.
