Man if only I had 5k to blow lol . If I did I'd rather just use that to trade in for a cement TRD PRO. I don't mind waxing and polishing . I actually love it . I just hate black paint now that I own a black truck .

Yea man metallic hides swirls and scratches better than non metallic paint. Dodge makes black metallic for cars, and it looks beautiful. You can hardly see scratches even under direct sunlight .
That was my "mistake" too. I became very impatient for my truck I ordered to come in . I saw this black beauty and I fell in love . So I bit the bullet .

Haha dude that's awesome ! I guess I need to take the guys out at my Toyota for some beers. Maybe I can get a good deal later on lol .
Yea man , I think black cars when clean are the most beautiful. Not even 10 mins lol . When I'm polishing my truck and I move on the the next panel, I look back to the previous one and there's already dust starting to cover the surface ! Then again I don't have a garage and Colorado is a dusty region for the most part .

Second one ?? Man I'll never get another black car again lol . I'm an auto detailer entrepreneur myself . So I do my own polishing and waxing .
A silver Tacoma would have been nice . That and white Tacomas hide the imperfections better than any other colors. My first color choice was Magnetic Gray Metallic.
That's smart man ! Or you could pass it down to one of your kids if you have any .
I've been think about selling mine and buying an old Tacoma. 1999 or something and using the rest of the money to buy a 17 SUBARU BRZ. They look so badass .

Can't beat the badass look of black. The quicksand reminds me too much of grandpa's matching khaki jacket and pants.

@Mugsy7 I was very concerned about buying a black truck as well but I do love it. Probably the best thing I did was clear bra the entire hood as soon as I bought it. In hindsight, I wish I went ahead and did the entire front fenders - was not too much more than just doing a 24" bra.

Not sure if it really made a difference or not, but I also applied Chemical Guys SS6 Sealant as soon as I got my truck as well.

I rarely hand wash my truck. Granted I don't do any off-roading, it's garaged at home and at work. My routine is going to car wash and just spraying on wash cycle and rinse cycle. If I have enough time left I finish with spotless water mist - basically de-ionized water at the car wash. I don't towel dry at all. In fact my goal is to not touch the paint. ( I only use my two bucket method with wool wash pad when I am getting ready to polish or wax.)

I live close by so I get it into my garage to get it out of the sun so the water spots don't start setting in. I put on my ear protectors and use my
Metro Vac MB-3CD Air Force Master Blaster 8-HP Car & Motorcycle Dryer. This thing is awesome!
It's not cheap but I've committed to keep this truck for a long time. Looks so good after a simple wash. I've waxed it twice in the 6 months that I have owned it. I've never detailed before but I really like the videos/support from chemical guys. I use their Blacklight Hybrid gloss/sealant/wax.

You can easily get out most of the swirls if they are not too deep. Again, I used CG polishes - easy process with numbered polishes and colored pads to use on dual-action orbital polisher ( I used the porter cable).

Best of luck. Sad to see people giving up on Black! But it looks so good....
