I guess I could double it up and see if the machine can handle it.

Are these just toys you tear apart? Or what you found on the web?

Won't be able to replicate it those. Good news is I made these for <$5. We normally pay $10-$20 for a toy that doesn't last very long.

Most recent dog toy. There are two sheets sandwiched together. Each sheet is 3 layers of 1000d cordura. The machine handled all 6 layers flawlessly and struggled only on the last seam which I think would be ~12 layers at the side seams.

My dog is currently trying to destroy it. He started on the webbing and will have that off shortly.

Nice! Out of curiosity after we talked about it I tried 8 layers of 1000d on my machine and just now tried 16 layers. 8 was np but at 16 it was missing 2/3 of the stitches . If 6 layers doesn't last for years I will lose any faith in Cordura. The firehose suggestion is great if you could actually sew it, I have no clue.

I got an 'order' for 6 visor organizers from a friend so I cranked these out over the past week. Obviously I need I little qc on my supply of 500d from ebay lol. W/e, it's still "gray".

These guys have made work so much easier, I never knew a see-through ruler would help so much, but it has, especially with offset dimensions.

How much are you selling them for?

And my dog got through the new toy pretty quick. Probably about an hour again. Might try some dyneema ripstop in the future. Plenty of toy left for him to chew for a bit.

Since I'm really only making them for friends I'm asking for like $15 on them, just enough to cover my materials and a bit of time to make it kinda worth doing. I don't see any value in actually selling these things unless I could get like $40 a piece for them. BROG sells theirs for $26-27 but it also takes a lot less work to just lay out 2 rows of PALS.

I didn't think they would go for much but was curious. I have people waiting eagerly to see if I can complete my tipi. Gonna be a sad day when I have to tell them I can't make them at cost for them .

Yeah, I'll keep making them for family and friends only.

What do you mean IF? What material did you go with for it?

I try to not get ahead of myself. This is a huge project for me that I am guessing will take two weekends worth of motivation to finish. I decided to try out silpoly after reading up on the pros/cons of it vs silnylon.

It's funny, the sewing portion doesn't actually scare me. It's being able to cut all the pieces accurately. Thinking using a cheap piece of wood to make a template.

Oh yeah, the pattern and getting your cuts right is more important. The seams are a stacked tolerance on top of your cut tolerance, so I agree entirely. It sucks even more with some lighter fabrics that stretch.

Do a wood template! It'll save a butt load of time seeing as you have like what 8 sides to cut out that are all the same?
