How do these ride on road (and offroad at high speed), compared to the factory style?

    Shock Relocation Mounts Progress Report:

I am starting to feel good about the shock relocation design and have begun finalizing the design. I hope to be getting a prototype lasered in early December.

    Details:
-I ended up deciding on the fixed upper mount to keep mounts simple. The price of 14" travel shocks is the same or very close in price to 12", so why would you want a 12" at same cost as 14"?
-Designed to fit King 2.5" body x 14" travel shocks.
-May fit 3.0 x 14" smooth body shocks with hose remote resi
-Standard 1.5" wide for rod-end shock mounts with 1/2" bolt

Dude, that is so awesome! Hey I've been meaning to ask since you're a Deaver dealer now, can I make the trip up to you to save on shipping cost? I know the price of gas is probably similar to the price of shipping but that way I get a small road trip in! I'm wanting to place an order around tax rebate time for possibly a relocate kit, and definitely a SUA kit and a pair of the Deaver SUA leafs.

I may, but I have my own Taco now to. I do intend to give about a $50 discount on these to all who have supported Archive with a shackle flip purchase.
Thank you Mike, I'm excited to make this shock design a reality. I plan to go SUA on my Taco as well, probably spring time. Right now, the springs are drop shipped from Deaver, so no savings on shipping.

Looks awesome!!!! Only reason I went 12" when I got the shocks for my 2nd gen is the leaf pack wouldn't cycle more than that. So I figured it would be cool to try and get the lower shock mount up as high as I could. Now with your shackle flip, the 14" shocks may be the ticket. I know your a very diligent designer so I am sure you worked out all the details!!! Can't wait to see some pics of the metal parts!!

Thanks Chris, yes diligently working out the kinks haha. I wanted the design to be capable of the upper the mid-travel range, without cutting the bed. For most Tacoma owners with roughly 3" lift and springs over the axle, they will be able to have the lower axle shock mount about flush with the lower quadrant of the axle, meaning a clean axle.

    Hey Eric,
I'm very interested in the relocate kit. I'll pick one up (and the flip kit) as soon as available. I was just about to purchase 12" Kings to fab my own - holding off now that I came across this. I was getting my inspiration from a TC build. They are using 14" as well. I think it's clever how they through bolted for a brace across the bed. IMG_0597.jpg

That is a great design, and we have discussed it in this thread. This kit will also have two 1/2" bolt holes at top of each mount to drill up thru bed and top plates will be an option, I figure it would be easy for customers to source a piece of tube to make their own strut bar with the plate if desired. I will be open to making a strut bar to offer and thinking up tire mounts etc down the road.
Glad to hear you are in, I'll be trying to pound this out by end of December

    Eric

Sounds good Eric. The tire carrier would be great, especially something like the swinging carrier that BAMF used to make. IMG_0598.jpg

Have you drilled them? For me it was relatively easy. Drill pilot hole, grind flush, and drill again. Step bit worked really well when we did @EDDO's hydro bump kit

Not yet, but I want to get them. I'd like to see yours once you get them installed!
I heard some people drill out the holes.
