I just lifted my 2016 Taco and I love it!
The rear looks really high, but the bed rails sit pretty level.
Noise video at the bottom of the post.

I used the OME kit from ToyTec. Got the stuff fast and it was all there. I'm really not trying to start any crap here. Toytec was great. OME on the other hand makes some pretty serious racket when bouncing around off road.
    That's this kit: http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com...spension-lift-kit-for-2016-Tacoma_p_1595.html
With the firmer valved shocks, 888 coils, and standard Dakars (no added leaf).
    20161015_103411.jpg

I have heard about OME stuff being noisy, but it was never an issue on my 2001 taco. If I were to tell the truth, I'm just trying to rebuild what I had, but on a 2016 model.
The 2001 did have 5100's out back - but I was happy with the performance for the last 8 years.

Still waiting on CBI for bumpers and sliders, but the winch is here:
    20161019_181407.jpg

Now for the noise and it's pretty ANNOYING.
I'm pretty sure this is the classic OME suspension clunk that people talk about, but I've got it in the rear and not the front. Let me know what you guys think!

When you figure out the noise, go for some tires!! Nice suspension choice

I found the noise. It's in the video.

Tires will happen. Probably in the spring.

Well that sucks. I was thinking about pulling the trigger on this. But if they're practically designed to make noise, that seems kind of shitty.

I thought so too. I'll send toytec an email Monday and see if they have any input, but it really isn't their problem. Hopefully they have some idea on how to correct this.

I'm looking at this kit also.
So, the noise is the rear shocks at full extension?

If you remove the shock is the noise gone

Wonder if they can supply a longer shock that doesn't bottom out?

The noise is indeed the shock. If requested by toytec, I'll remove the shocks and film again (hell, I may do it anyway).

I hope there is a longer shock, but then I'd probably need longer brake lines too.

My next issue will be the front coils. I was told that the 888's is what I need, but all the ARB info I recently found online says a winch and a bumper should get 886's for the higher rate (even though it is 3mm shorter).

Hopefully I get some good info back from that email.

Just to keep it all in one place and as general info...

After a shakedown run and a bit of road, the noise is still there (but only over certain oddly shaped mounds).
It doesn't seem jarring or particularly harmful, but it is annoying and sounds like a rickety old farm truck when it clanks.
Otherwise, it is very well behaved. It takes large hits like a champ and isn't all "floaty" or "mushy" like it was stock.

The lift has settled to 23" front and 25" rear (center of hub to fender).
Stock this truck is 21" front, and 22" rear.
Sort of odd to get 3" out back and 2" in the front.

I anticipate losing 1/2" due to the winch and bumper, and 1/4" (if that) due to the rear bumper.
That will be one hell of a rake, but I'll fight it all I can to keep about 2" over stock everywhere.

If there is anyone with similar hardware and a winch, I'd love to hear from you... or anyone with any input on springs.

Ugg. I was going to pull the trigger today on that kit with 888 springs. King makes longer rear shocks and relocates the top bracket I think . My shell would probably push the rear end more flat.

But all that noise would drive me insane, the truck is a squeak and rattle maker already. I'd sell it if it were worse.

For anyone that is thinking about buying this kit, but is now on the fence... Hold on just a bit more!

I LOVED my old OME suspension. It's generally good stuff.

Let's see what response I get Monday and see if this is normal. I wouldn't want to chase you away from a good suspension. This thread is about gathering info and getting my suspension squared away, not bad-mouthing OME.
If this is indeed normal, and we are to just piss off with noises and odd lift numbers... Well then I'm glad to have warned you - but we aren't there yet.

Subbed! On the fence right now. Simple OME or cash out on some kings.

IIRC, OME nitro shocks don't have enough extension for the lift.

I'm supprised you only ended up with 2in I was under the impression that 888s would get you 2.5in. Hope you get the noise figured out.

Just throwing this out there..... I think you have too many rear leafs as your truck is stock at the moment. Read below picture Fully.

I went to an open house at a shop where three trucks were equipped with same lift and the clunck was present due to uninstalled winch bumper, on one of the trucks. Toss a lot weight in the bed to fact check me on this if you'd like. There is a chance I'm wrong. But I'm at the ready to order this kit too stage. I'd like for it not to clunck just as much as you!

    Keep up the good work!

    Basic overland stuff...
Edit: with the 90000 struts and 886 coils I haven't ran a swaybar since day one with no noticible adverse drivability.

Excellent video skills... you're maxing out your rear shocks. With no weight... pull the 3rd leaf.

No noise here except for poly bushing squeak. With no weight you're well exceeding the "lift" of the kit and limiting it's designed travel. Load the bed down and take it out and twist it up several times.

You'll also want 886 coils and 90000 struts up front with a winch and bumper.

    this was my issue

had to get both shocks re assembled as I could turn the shock absorber in the coil. Shit was loose!

other than the rear leaf pack squeaking I have a quiet ride for the most part.

I'll go out and remove a leaf from each side and see what happens. I wonder if it's best to pull the third leaf, or pull the overload.

Reading through this site, lots of people do either or and love it... Then others leave it alone and that's fine. This is all unloaded trucks from what I can tell.

I'll start with the third leaf and see what happens.
