    ended up not opening it on Thanks Given day... we were drinking wines, instead, had a lovely old Zinfandel (rich, complex, dry berry) with appetizers, a decent pinot noir with the main course, and a split of a superb late harvest gerwurztraminer with dessert.

    so, opened that tonight. poured a few fingers in a highball glass for my wife, as she wanted a taste. that was plenty for her.

    I'm about halfway through the bottle. its really not my thing, the currants are kind of tart, and the wood kind of masks the black malty goodness of the Narwal Imperial Stout base (imho, Narwal is just about as good as Old Rasputin).

    I don't mean to say that it is not interesting, but, the first 3-finger pour was plenty for me.... I'll have to finish it or it will be bad tomorrow.

    Its not your usual 22 oz (650 ml) bomber, its labeled 1 pt. 9.4 fl oz, which I believe is 750ml, or 25.4 fl oz, but its not a actual champagne bottle, although it had a champagne wired cork. The bottle has a circle W molded, like "3 15 0,75l 78"

    I didn't refrigerate it at all, served it at 55 F cellar temperature.

    this is Sierra Nevada "Trip in the Woods" Barrel Aged Series "Ginger Bigfoot", Bigfoot Barleywine aged in bourbon barrels, with fresh ginger. Once again, the oak barrels almost overpower the beer, but then ginger is much nicer IMHO than the sour current flavor of the Narwal.

    11.4%, phew.

    p.s. This bottle too has the circle+W makers mark, with the same numbers... This website http://www.glassbottlemarks.com/bottlemarks-5/ says...

    So, Sierra must have gotten them to make a custom bottle as the neck is standard champagne bottle sized, but its definitely a beer bottle shape, and Sierra is about the only one using 750ml bombers, instead of the way more common 22 fl oz / 650 ml versions. I note too, normal 12oz Sierra bottles have a different bottle marker mark.
