New guy, with an old (probably) remote question

About a week ago I bought a 2007 Tacoma double cab Prerunner, looked good, 67000 miles, two keys (one black, one grey, huh?), but no remotes. So I went on Amazon and bought a pair. So far I've tried every permutation of procedure in an attempt to program, but the truck issues no lock/unlock sequence after keying and opening.
Now I'm wondering if this truck is even remote capable. Any way of knowing if it will even take a remote? I'm sorta handy mechanically, but after sitting in my driveway opening and closing my door like an idiot, I feel like, well, an idiot.

I don't think every Tacoma came with a keyless remote. Also make sure you ordered the correct remotes and are following the correct procedure.

There's a couple different procedures, I followed them both. As far as five seconds, forty seconds, I went through both quick and slow, no effect - the locks don't cycle afterwards.
I suppose it's possible that the remotes don't function, have bad batteries, or are the wrong ones for the truck. Would the truck go into program mode absent correct, functioning remotes? Or would it 'sense' that there are none present and just go back to sleep, so to speak?
Is there anyway to discover if the truck is remote capable?

After trying a bunch of times, I contacted a guy on FB that programs keys and remotes for a living. He said he would have to put a computer on it to program the remotes, so I went, and he did, and his computer said 'ECU NOT FOUND'. He put another computer on it and cleared a code (no CEL) but still couldn't get the truck to go into program mode, (even manually) and still got the ECU NOT FOUND message.
Any idea what the heck this message means?
    TIA

All I got with my 07 was a grey key. I had no idea why it was grey but it worked so that was fine. I went to the locksmith to get another key and he told me that the grey key was a Valet key. He said thats the key you give to vendors who work on your truck and it gives them limited access such as no glove box or trunk or things like that. Since we dont have locking glove boxes or trunks its pretty much the same as a regular ignition key I would think.

Have you tried the procedures using both keys? Maybe it won't work with valet keys?

    Some
up under the driver side dash. above the clutch(if equipped) look for a blue box. if you have it then you should have keyless entry
