One of our SC guys, who is a mechanic by trade, converted his Prerunner to 4WD and has left the badge on the back. Sneaky.

They did away with the Prerunner name for 3rd gen 2WDs as well as the entire 5-Lug models.

Thanks, Chuck! I googled them when I saw your post but what I saw didn't say anything about water.

    Yep, the leg lamp.

Would have been easier to get a 4WD and put the pre runner badges on it.
    SAME THING... :notsure:

    Morning all.
Sitting here reading and sipping on egg nog coffee.
    Work today.
Going to order the boys trans.
Toyota stepped up and gave him a big discount on the trans.
A trusted coworker is going to put it in for me on his time.
So all In all saving over $3,000. Could have gone junk yard but
Need to roll the dice on keeping this rav 3 or 4 more years. He still can't afford this
But the hit will be easier.
He made me cry last night saying he didn't know what he would do without me.
Couldn't sleep all night because of it.
So by next weekend this should be all a memory.
I hope so. I'm getting to old for this stress.

Saved over 3k?! Damn. Sounds like ya got it planned out. I wish we could've taken another approach with the corolla but I work odd hours and days and don't want my wife stranded anywhere. I sleep better knowing she has a warranty again.

Well it's still 12/12 now but if something happens a little longer after I have a Better chance than a junk yard one.

    Yea.
I kinda missed my younger days wrenchin. I remember street racing my 67 chevelle on a Friday night a d cracked my trans housing and flywheel but made it home. Got a ride to junkyard and parts store Saturday . Pulled trans and put guts of mine with new clutches and converter in new case and back in. Finished up Sunday and test drove. Drove it to work monday.

I remember back in the 80s helping my brother swap a transmission in his 65 Galaxie. It was February . In Indiana . Our back driveway was those big limestone painful rocks. It was about 25 degrees outside. we had to dig the snow out from around the car to slide our fat asses and the transmission underneath it. Worst case scenario for a swap, but he needed the car running asap. Awful, awful day wrenching, but quite a fond memory......
