    Toyota did what they had to do to sway the American public that they built a superior vehicle. Once the bait was taken and their sales continued to climb they have become more like Chevy and Dodge. Get em out the door and people will buy them because they are a Toyota. I still think Toyota is one of the better brands but after hearing all the negatives on the 3rd gen I would really have to find a good deal to buy one.

    So they built quality trucks for years so that in the future they can cut corners and still have loyalty? No. Vehicles are more complex than they used to be so reliability will never be what it was. However, they are still superior to other brands and data shows that.
