Tick tick tick..sounds sh$tty... like an old Buick with the lifters ticking....

Also, finish on wheels flaked off early and dealer would not help...

....still 50K on my 06, and wouldn't trade for anything else...well...other than a newer DC...

    Love the Taco :)

'02 front bumper paint peeling off for the second time. It is now rusted. Toyota replaced it first time but says, it's out off warranty now.
O.D. is pretty much useless with this 2.7,automatic. Won't hold O.D. on even the smallest of raises at anything under 75mph and 2800rpm. Downshifts in/out of OD and motor screams, very annoying. Even with the optional 3.90(pre-runner)axle ratio it's geared to high and RPM's are to far out of the power range @ 65MPH or less. Keep it out of OD and in the 3G RPM range and it has good power but the MPG goes into the, "I could have had a V8 category".
Would not buy a new Taco without the 4.0 motor.

    None yet! It's new!
    2009 Access Cab:
    1. Throttle-by-wire SUCKS. Too much lag in response to pedal.
    2. Clutch pedal "creeeeaaaaaakkkk" unless I lube it every 1.5 months.
    3. Cup holders (with manual trans) SUCK almost as much as the throttle-by-wire.
    4. Need "fog lights on" indicator light.
    5. It would be nice if it was easier to remove everything from the back (jump seats, console, headrests, etc.) to get a nice, flat space if you're not using the back seats for passengers.

So my only complaint is before I bought my 2010 trd sport I had never owned a vehicle in the same decade it was made and I considered cars/trucks transportation ONLY.
NOW I am consumed and addicted to upgrades and extras, posting pics like some proud parent (no kids). The girlfriend hates me and Never wants to hear a word or see anything new for the truck. I have hobby overload as it is and with work I am running out of time in the day.
SO really my only complaint is I LOVE THIS TRUCK!! F YOTA NAYSAYERS!!

For all of you who wish there was bed lighting, I will have some good news. One of the other TW members had done a simple set up using fog lights. Awesome, thank you! I am expanding on his idea and building a set up that can be manipulated to light the entire bed or a specific area. I should have it done this weekend (2/13) and will hope to create a thread for all to see. Hang on, it's coming.

Could have bought ANY truck I wanted... I dislike nothing about my 2010 Tacoma V6 4x4 long bed. Its exactly the truck I wanted. Living a dream, don't wake me up.

    shitty cloth interior
crappy "leather" plastic dash and doors thingy
carpet being impossible to keep clean
    rear sliding not electronic
no bed lights like other trucks
cluster lights (stupid orange\red) looks weird i think
not enough hiding places for my meds
THE FUCKING TRANSMISSION LAG!!!! every time it happens i feel like yelling lag like one of those stupid 12yo that play games online. but i control myself.
i do love the numerous cup holders because most are completely useless but at least i can say i have more than any car in my family. i wouldn't trade this truck for anything tho except a trophy truck but anyone would so its understandable.

^ If I had a 1st Gen. I'd have a list of complaints longer that my 2nd Gen. I love the 1st gens too but its nothing compared to my 2nd Gen. However, that only my opinion....

A lot of the complaints in my 2nd Gen were things I was going to replace anyways.

The "ONLY" Freaking things I can complain about my 2nd Gen is the "TICKING"
