    Naw we rented a small place for Thanksgiving, it's part of a small farm, so the kiddos get to fee to animals durring the day

    LOL they are too comfortable with their big rivers and their 9fters wouldn't work in these back road small town rivers/creeks

    yeah...I always ask new folks..."how's your roll cast" and they're like "huh?". I rarely get into a spot where I can get a full cast unless i'm in the middle of the river casting upstream. Roll casts rule here

    Oh absolutely! Plus a roll cast is by far the most time efficient. And it makes for a smoother entrance in my opinion.

    Is roll cast, basically like a half cast, where limited on pole range of motion?

    Not quite. Roll cast is a specific technique that rolls your line out and lays the fly down straight upstream. It's a little hard to explain but I'm sure there's videos online. It's a very useful cast. Especially when you're in small rivers and streams with trees around.

    Yea pretty much. Doesn't require all the line to be in the air.

    When your line is in front of you, you bring the rod back and make d with the line behind you and cast forward. Basically putting a loop in the line as it casts out. Tough to explain
