Decided to take off the shell on my 09 trd sport long bed. Wife told me my truck was looking like an old man truck and said she would help me remove it. She did most of the work! I think it looks much better! What do you guys think?

Looks good either way...I personally would've opted for a cap on my truck had they not been so expensive...and instead opted for a tri-fold tonneau cover

I like the cap but I'm older than Hawaii so maybe that makes me an old dude...If I had the money I'd get one.

I've had a tonneau cover on mine and have been looking around at bed caps. I think they look good but, like your wife, my wife agrees that they're for old men..

Like a bald dude when they take their hat off........quick put it back on. I am balding and have a shell, that makes me an expert in such matters.

Does feel faster and more nimble without it. I may end up selling it, not sure yet

Sell it and put the money towards a supercharger because only old men drive trucks with naturally aspirated engines - especially if they have a camper shell. Oh wait...

I'm less than 30 and wished that my wife would of let me buy a shell, but she said it was for old dudes. :(

I'll agree though it does look better without.

    Needs bigger tires.

I got a tonneau on my truck so I'm biased.

I like the cap for covered storage. Future plans are to get some offroad toys which at that point, a cap is useless for me as they will be going in the bed

Looks like the next time I meet someone I'm going to have to ask about her preference on camper shells right out of the gate - I had no idea this is such a big thing lol. I hate to say it but the answer "I think they are for old men" will be a deal breaker unless she's alright with my early onset of old man tendencies.

All depends what you want and need the truck for. For myself the cap does it. Never thought about a cap or any other add ons as being for old or young.
