Had some technical winching experience yesterday. Tied up on both ends

The snow wasn't quite the best for wheeling, and the off camber sidehill shit made that one of the more challenging snow runs I'll ever go on. That was a run where I'm really glad we had a small number of rigs, all equipped, and good drivers. That's the first time I've ever had to fully commit to a move in that truck.

Please read as, that was really effing fun.

 

Couldn't agree more. That could have easily turned into a 10 hour day with more trucks

 

What I like most about snow wheeling is the finesse that's required. You can't mash the skinny pedal (usually). You have to stop the instant you get in trouble. The recovery is rough. And you have no idea what's under the white shit. That run was a perfect example of all those things. We went from fun, to park a truck, to turn around, in right at a mile.

I parked about a half mile after this. Andrew and Brian turned around a quarter mile later. From looking at a map and google earth I think we turned around just over a half mile short.

 

Well fuck. Just blew one of my cheep Chinese headers. Time for some real LT'$

 

We turned around just short of the fork up to the lake.

 

That last stretch is steep. Good thing you had a place to turnaround
