Double cab is the same as the crew cab, no?

It's regular cab, extended cab (short 4 door), and crew cab (full 4 door), unless I'm missing something.

If I'm not, you're missing something.

What else don't you like besides the fuel economy?

Double cab is a short 4 door in chevy and dodge land. Crew cab is the bigger 4 door. I think only Ford makes a full sized truck with an size extended cab. That's where the back two doors open backwards (suicide).

Double cab is basically a 4 door but with a jump style rear bench, limited legroom. The Crew cab is a 4 door with a back seat large enough for 2 burly bastards and a mule. Huge difference.

Maybe I Google'd wrong, but it broke down the cab variation as such.

I said short four door was called an extended cab so far as I found online with Google and GM websites.

No mention of a double cab AND a crew cab. :notsure:

They look similar on the outside, but huge difference inside. Look at interior pictures.

The double cab is only good for midgets. I don't have a family and rarely haul a full crew, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money and get half a back seat. CCLB ftw! I had to order my truck because the dealer said a crew cab 6.5' bed truck is a tough sell sitting on the lot. All the pussies want a short bed so they can park.

Yeah I'm going big on this. I had to off load my dog kennel just to haul my mule deer and camping gear home last week. Standard bed for me.

Before I bought the Tacoma I had a Cruze diesel, and an 05 Silverado with a Joe Gibbs supercharger on it. Paying for, insuring, and maintaining two vehicles was no fun, and I needed a 4x4, so got rid of them both and went to one midsized Tacoma.

I'm fortunate in that I can have multiple toys. I'll keep the Jeep Cherokee as my mountain beater and my daughter will use it for school duty. When she goes off to college in 3 years I'll sell that and buy a smaller Taco or Hilux to thrash around the trails on. No biggie.

If I'm going to have shitty mileage, I might as well enjoy it in a full size plush rig. :bananadance:

The price increase, the QDR so far, disappointed that after 10 years they rushed to market basically a retooled 2nd gen (shares same frame, same cab, same bones as previous gen). I would be okay with the lack luster powertrain if I was getting the advertised mpg, but I'm getting right now what my 2nd gen got stock. Don't get me wrong, they did great on the interior, the styling is 50/50, not fall in love looks but not terrible either, its quieter inside than my 2nd gens were. But has had the most issues of any of the 5 ive owned within its 6 month life span so far and the powertrain isn't living up to the hype. Overall, Toyota did okay but disappointed as many of us were and are with what they gave us for the new Tacoma, they had 10 years to really knock it out the park, this isn't really a grand slam. Just wait till the ranger comes back, Toyota's market share will continue to shrink in the segment.

At least 1k. Probably more at a dealership. You can do it yourself but the tools and parts alone will cost close to $500. You should probably replace water pump with everything off as well.

Not much talk of this, emissions parts/equipment, and other diesel issues. If your doing it for mpg it really isn't worth it. Have fun in limp mode.

Pretty sure it is 150k on these. Still wish they use a chain though.

That's not reflective of average mpg slick. Highway and cruise control?

Put a deposit on this one. Waiting for Dec to roll around for new bonus tags.. Currently looking like $40,000 for the 6.2L 8 spd tranny fullsize..

They are crediting me for the gawdy 20" chrome wheels and putting 18" rims and AT tires on.

It reflects the mileage I got when I owned the truck "slick" and is accurate of what I got while I owned it for 4 months. Unless you own one or have driven one your opinion and ignorant responses still mean crap, back on topic.
