Oh okay. I'm surprised you have such good things to say about the traction in the snow then! the MTRs must be good in that stuff

I find TRAC helps out quite a bit in snow but it's no lockers, that's for sure. I'm jelly of your front locker.

Yes. I left my sealant stuff at Dakota's house plus I don't have the balls to put them in the oven by myself..

They are fantastic. I aired down to 5psi and thought about going lower. No problems at all even bombing through a pothole infested forest service road

But driver experience has a huge role in it. Not trying to toot my own horn but knowing what to do/not what to do in deep snow helps a lot.

Cool! No issues with 5psi and non-beadlock rims? I'd like to get more into snow wheeling and was considering beadlocks for the single digit tire pressures, but it sounds like they aren't as necessary as I thought.

The wheels really help.. The new 16" design of the stealth 6 has the drop center so low that its really hard to mount and dismount, have to stretch the tire really far. Discount tire hated me actually.. But MTR's also have a double ridge bead which acts somewhat as a bead lock internally. Those combined will allow me to run extremely low and hence the reason I didn't get beadlocks. But before with my old F5's I ran 8psi on 285's and was fine.

Well my finals are in 2 weeks.. I just had 3 mid terms in last weeks 3 day week! But yes I am planning on it for sure. Not sure exactly when yet.

The jeep on 40's that came with us

This hill was kinda tough for me, had to take a few runs at it and winched @JimSnell up it.
    30453904443_eb49f629b2_o.jpg
Top of that hill. Not long after Jim had to park his truck and rode in the jeep
    31117986032_c3ab28a4b1_o.jpg 30440359444_d2b70fde43_o.jpg
The off camber spots just made me slide down hill, almost off the trail.. Definitely would have been a long trip if that happened!

The technical recovery. Andrew's Jeep hooked through a snatch block to the group of trees on the right, my winch hooked to a tree straight in front.

Where we turned around. Being under the tree helped but it was at least 3ft of snow! Got within a few turns of the lake :(

Bike conversion. Dirt bike in the summer, snowmobile-ish in the winter! @dakotasyota you need one of these conversion kits for Timmy...

Those conversion kits are stupid expensive. I'd rather just have a sled for the winter

So we thought it would be uneventful on the way down... Wrong. Nearing the bottom Andrew watches a jeep go down off the trail about 20ft

    30453109323_260717c0a0_o.jpg
No winch, open/open diffs and a bubba rope to recover. Hooked Andrews snatch block up to a tree and pulled him straight back on the trail

Then he went flying down the trail again.. Took his passenger side door mirror off, slammed the back into a tree which was the only thing stopping him.

Oh and forgot to include this pic of snow LT

I'm sure it can just because it is smaller and can fit better between trees. Curious if he has issues with it freezing since I'd assume the radiators get crammed with snow.

Itd be fun as hell to rip on but I'd still rather have a dedicated sled

Didn't think about the radiator.. Maybe includes some kind of protection?
But yes if I had the money i'd want a sled. One of the guys fell over right beside us then literally 30ft down the road again..

Haha. It happens. I think I fell over more than a dozen times today in the woods.

Looks like a super fun time. And thanks for the wheel info. Do you know if the new ray 10s share the good bead retention thing you were talking about with your stealth 6s?

How'd the 35s do compared to the 40s on the Jeep? was he locked/locked too? Sorry for all the questions I'm just trying to figure out what I need

No problem! And no I don't believe so. It took Discount tire and hour to mount each tire and the manager said "i've worked here 12 years and have never seen a wheel design this bad".. they really didn't like it. But it holds the bead and I should never break a bead on the trail.

Since my tires are new and his 40's were pretty worn I'd say I actually had the upper hand. He was sliding a lot more than me for sure. Locked front and rear with rock jock 60's. No problem with the questions I like answering them! haha

Even the F5's with the same exact wheel specs (3.5" bs -25mm offset) doesn't have the same design as these wheels
