Does anyone have any recommendations for a good back-up camera? There are a lot of brands out there but I'm not sure what's good and what's not. I plan on installing it with my aftermarket head unit.

    ....patience.... :)

I don't have one, but Costco sells a cheap one here... I don't know if it is cheap for a reason, but there is a killer place for surveillance equipment called supercircuits.com

Family member is a Special Agent, and the Feds buy their gear from them.... We can't get their stuff, but check them out for ideas.....

What head unit are you going with? That info will probably help in finding compatible cameras.

I'm leaning towards the Kenwood Excelon DNX6960 which is back-up camera compatible.

If you're going with Kenwood pick up this camera. I use this one for my DNX-5120 and have no complaints, easy install as well.

That's what I think. They do sell an aftermarket set with the LCD installed in the mirror but I prefer the bigger screen.

That's the camera I was considering but wasn't sure if it was a good one. Thanks for the site with the reviews.

I've got the license plate camera paired with a aftermarket gps/headunit and I've gone through 3 in less than 2 years. I went through best buy. Also when u get it installed make sure they route the wire right. The first time they routed under my spare so to drop my spare I had the cut the wire. Also I would recomend modding your headunit so it will work without the ebrake on before you install it. Makes life so much easier

note: I'm not saying you should mess with your gps while you drive. I am saying that whoever is riding shotgun can mess with it.

pop n lock 5300, aries 4" oval black step bar, oem cargo divider , pioneer avic z110bt nav unit, pioneer ndbc4 backup camera, - just starting out but more to come
I just installed a Pioneer Avic Z110BT - the camera I paired it with is the Pioneer NDBC4. It is a wide view camera that I installed in a PopnLock 5300 . The PopnLock has a dedicated space for which the camera can be placed. The camera angle not only gives a great rear wide angle view, but also the angle shows my rear bumper so that I can have a better depth perception as to how it close it really it from my rear. It looks great on my 7inch Nav unit screen. :D

I ran the camera cable from the tailgate and I ziptied it along an already installed factory cable loom which ran from the rear of the bed up to the front passenger floor. This way, I was able to keep the cable relatively high on the underside of the car and also its placement would not interfere with the spare tire removal.

I feel the same way about your car needing to be parked. How would I fix that when I go to install?

How well is your head unit working? I've read mixed reviews about the Z110BT.
