I'm having a weird problem now. When using an fm transmitter for my mp3 players my radio changes stations. Transmitter is set for 107.9fm, 107.9 programmed as preset 5, and frequently the radio changes to 87.7fm. I can push 5 to set it back or wait a few seconds for radio to do it itself.

This happen to anyone else? Ideas?

My hands are off the steering wheel controls and the head unit as well. I've watched it happen several times since noticing the random music cut out.

Does this happen when you're not using an FM transmitter? Some gen 2 Tacos have been known to have haunted radio issues.

Really? It never did it before. Then this week it did it 2 or 3 days in a row. Then I got a new transmitter, and it hasn't done it again.... Fuckin' gremlins!

Hopefully the transmitter was just faulty and it was screwing with the headunit somehow. The haunted radio thing has been reported a lot on the 09s, it was one of my big concerns when I got my truck but so far so good, no gremlins .

I'm just not sure how an FM transmitter could make the head unit change to another station and then back. I replaced the transmitter because I was getting this annoying hum from it not affected by head unit volume, or the volume on my phone.

Well, the issue has reared it's ugly head again. Guess I'll call the dealer tomorrow and see what they say. It's out of warranty so if they can't fix it for free it may force my hand on a new HU. Which might be a good idea anyway other than I don't really want to pay for one right now, and it's too damn cold to install it myself.

This time it's doing it without an FM transmitter even plugged in. :frusty:
