I fill up at the same station and the same pump, on the same side for all but 1 refueling. I've used that same pump for every car for the last 2 years. Having done the manual and OBC mileages, I have to say, the OBC is very, very accurate. I also only ever fill to full, once I'm below a 1/4 tank and usually once the warning comes on.

Now this is in 3rd gen and may be different for previous models.

    I have the DCBS SRS V6 and averaged 22.3MPG with the KO2s @ 42PSI (265/70/17 C).

Now running the ORD Pro with the OEM Kevlar at 48PSI, which even I thought was high, but I chalk tested. I'm getting in the 25.5+mpg in 'city' and 26+mpg on the highway. I find the onboard computer to be very accurate.

The ride isn't as comfortable as recommended pressures, but that MPG is really nice. 500 miles on a tank is pretty damned nice too. Oh and if the A/C is on, kiss that MPG goodbye!

I'm confused about what tires you're running at the moment. Did you mean TRD PRO tires? If so, are those the same as TRD off-road tires? I'm curious because I just got my new 3rd gen, and the label on the door says that both, front and rear should be 30 psi but you're running 48 psi which sounds crazy. I'm wondering if you have the same tires as me and if I could inflate my tires a little more to achieve a little better mpg. Thanks in advance.

This seems wild... I had my tires at around 39-40 due to the lovely fall weather in Va and didn't see a change in MPG's like this... Maybe 1 or 2 but nothing in the mid 20 range

although I have heard running 93octane will result in 24-25 mpg performance somehow...

Good mpg can be achieved if you drive it right. This is at 29psi on stock sport tires, heading to the beach and back, NorCal coastal hills and valleys. Not one way downhill or any cheating like that.

It's the kind of driving where you floor it out the stop sign only to slam the brakes on 100 yards later at the next stop. And repeat.

Like the spoiled Bay Area airhead stay at home moms in GLK-500's who are late for their yoga class.

i dont think driving 40 miles from a newly filled up tank will give good results.. should use an entire tank of gas to determine your overall mpg. my v8 gets 25 mpg the moment i hop on the fwy after pumping but goes down to 18 after a entire tank.

39.2 distance traveled + 349 miles to empty / 21 gallon tank size = 18.5 miles per gallon.

Is my math wrong or am I technically right?

I'd love to see someone actually achieve 400+ miles in between fuel stops. To me the computer means nothing when I stop to fill up every 350-375 miles because of what my gauge says.

I think the tires are the same. PSI is based on load rating, greater the load the more tire pressure needed. P tires require less PSI than LT tires. KO2s are LT tires and should be ran around 50psi. Page 471 of the manual I believe. You can request inflation tables from the tire manufacturer.

Even when the DTE reaches 0, there's still 2-3 gal left. Math still doesn't add up but the CPU mileage is fairly accurate compared to a calibrated ultragauge. I've hit 400 once and come close a couple other times.

It was more about the fact that it said hes averaging 25.9 but if that was truley the case he would get over 500+ miles per tank which is unrealistic. Hes averaging about 18-19 real mpgs. Even if you account for "2-3" extra gallons its still 19- 20mpgs NOT 25.9.

100% gas gets me 2-3mpg better across the board. Not getting OP numbers though. 19 city 22-23 if steady cruising 55-60. Thats the sweet spot. Interesting that AC has a significant effect. I almost always have AC on

I've got 408 miles on a tank one time in the year I've had the truck. I typically fill up somewhere between 325 and 375 miles.

I've gotten 24.2 driving 65-70 mph on flat highway. Miles were 445 and it took 18.37 gallons to fill it. It's all about how you drive and your environment.
