    Hmm that's good to know. I see on the SCS website that they now offer any of their wheels in beadlocks by special order. I wonder what that premium is...

    $200/wheel... plus you have to balance them yourself, no tire shops will balance bead locks. Possibly mount too.. but watching how hard it was for discount to mount my tires with proper tools, I can't imagine doing it myself

    Well that's out then. I was thinking about the Hutchinson ones but pricey and heavy... could save like 20 lbs a corner with non beadlock SCS wheels, and they look better. Thanks for your help! I'll just stick with regular wheels and carry an extra spare while I'm testing the low psi limits.

    @TheNatural

    Some shops will balance them but it isn't as easy just taking it wherever you would like. Balancing beads are a good option since @G.T. Runs them without issues on his hutchinson beadlocks. One of the reasons for bead locks is mounting your own tires, so not sure why you would want a shop to do it but again some will you just need the right shop.

    Ill be mounting my tires myself once my wheels get here, hoping beads will work this time around so I can avoid a tire shop all together.

    I want a timbersled so bad! I was looking at one at the powersports store while y'all were up there actually. So expensive though. Cuz I also want a supermoto kit too haha

    Good news is we're probably upgrading to A arm sleds finally this year.

    I have no experience with beadlocks, if that wasn't obvious already. Mounting tires myself is a big plus, but 1 bag on dynabeads per tire costs almost as much as having a shop mount and balance. I'm not sure about having to retorque 80 bolts all the time either. That sounds like a big PITA. There's the not street legal issue too (other than hutchinsons). Buuuut, 4psi sounds pretty effin' sweet. :notsure:

    pack of 4 8oz (for 35in tire) plus applicator kit and valve cores is $44, which is less than most shops to mount/balance a tire. Even walmart is $14 each and thats without valve stems. Torque for the bolts is easy with a impact, finish it off with a torque wrench if preferred. I wouldn't worry about the street legal aspect unless your buying a sketchy set up, depending on your state even all the 2/3 piece wheels that people run on their cars are considered not street legal.

    If I had the extra cash/time I would have ordered my wheels converted from SCS, but down the road ill have it done

    I wheel my F5s at 8psi without issue on rocks, I wouldn't be worried at an even lower psi on snow

    Gotcha, yeah I have E so I don't get many results until I get into the single digit psi up front, 12-14 in the rear is pretty good for me with the weight

    Where do you see the dynabead kit for only $44? Looking at the website here, it looks like 22.95 CAD for just a single 8oz bag.

    I just watched a few youtube videos of people mounting their own beadlocks and it doesn't look that bad. One guy said they recommend retorquing every 2 weeks and not more than 26psi on the highway... any reason he would say not to run higher pressure? Torquing 80 bolts once per tire change (okay twice with a retorque after a few miles) I could handle... but every 2 weeks... fuck that
    Honestly the stealth 6 was top of my non-beadlock list until the ray 10 came out. But now I gotta have dem ray 10's if I get a new non-beadlock rim (and maybe even if I get a new beadlock).

    Amazon prime. I would check torque maybe 2 weeks after any initial assembly just like checking lug nut torque at a later date. But after the first check I wouldn't see the point of checking again every 2 weeks unless you have problematic nuts. Hutchinson uses twist lock nuts, basically 2 piece nuts that if broke lose they the nut would spin against itself to prevent the nut to completely loosen itself. The Psi no more than 26 I don't understand either, GT airs up to ~40psi and doesn't have issue, again probably the difference between a shitty beadlock and something a little more premium like hutchinson or OMF.

    I try to run 35psi in the front and 32psi in the rear. The Hutchinson design is like no other that I've used and allows for high pressures. The larger commercial size beadlock wheels that they make are rated to around 120psi using the same design principal.

    Ugh I know.. But after all the things he told me was wrong with the Jeep from the factory, makes me glad I don't have one.
