Yeah the only thing my son has mentioned he wanted for Christmas was a Cozmo Robot. Had to look that up. Long story short it's a hot toy and must have just been released. No one had it locally yet except toysrus had it advertised for Black Friday. A few 3rd party sellers had it on Amazon for $300+. Figured I had lost any chance of getting it going in 4 hours after Black Friday started at toysrus. They had 3 shelves of them at $150. Score!

Ran a detour to Walmart and picked up four of the Mobil 1 5 qt jugs of oil for $19.99 each. Went with the basic 5W-30.

That'll get me to 100K miles (just rolled over 80K last week).

That's what I use. Sometimes if the Extended Performance is on sale for the same price as the regular and I'll get that....though I still change it at 5k.

I always use the EP filter.

I was going to get either the EP or the HM, but neither were coming up with the sale price. I'm lieu of the time & aggravation of finding someone intelligent enough to research, I opted for the regular.

First of all....I'm only "Jane" on the weekends. It's strictly a business TRANS-action....no emotion involved and no eye contact is ever made.

I have kids to feed.

    You're fine.

At 75k I may switch to the HM just for the seal and gasket conditioners it has.

I'm sure 5K oil change intervals with the regular 5W-30 is even overkill. Never had my oil anylzed, but from reading some on here, most indicate pushing it out to 6K or 7K or more.

I guess I'll now be making that switch for the same reason at 100K now.

Bobtheoilguy site I occasionally visit....those guys will tell you that under most circumstances a 5k OCI is overkill with syn oil But so what? OCs aren't that difficult or expensive. As long as I'm able to crawl under my rig it'll be 5k OCs for me.

Oil, filters and OCIs are as much psychological as they are necessary. Whatever puts one's mind at ease is what they should do.

Exactly! +/- $30 for oil & filter = cheap insurance for $30K vehicle.
