I love that "test run" look when they have the flares/bedsides off and all the cage and shocks show their sexy glory.

There needs to be a less sarcastic :jerkoff: emoji... @tcBob hint hint

This weather is begging me to go out in my truck, ugh. If only I hadn't filled up my tank 4 times in the last 4 days...

...but Rowher is so close(ish) :annoyed:

My truck looks like a mini budget version of that. I'm crazy though. I don't trailer my truck. Drive it. Romp it. Drive it home. A v8 linked truck blasted by me around camp with that look.

I have a pretty cool video (lol "i'll post soon") from Ocotillo Wells where we're on a road and out of the corner this truck goes blasting by over a set of whoops faster than us on our fire road

Speaking of filling up gas tanks, my mileage absolutely sucked the entire thanksgiving trip and it was all highway. Last time I did an all highway trip I got 20mpg, this time (on the way up to Napa to get the Softopper) I got a measly 16.5mpg. I can't think of anything that's changed other than I got the roof rack and hella lights put on since that last all hwy trip, everything else is the same. I figured they'd have some effect (made my brick-like aerodynamics that much worse) but that seems like a big hit.

Do we get affected by winter glas blends out here in California? Or is that a regional thing?

BTW the softopper seemed to make no difference either way, mileage was the same coming home with it on (which I expected)

Average speed? Could be the rack and lights...

Ironically, the best aerodynamic profile is a "tear drop" with the "tail" end being the trailing edge.

I had cruise control set to 70 the entire time, normally I like to stay in between 65-70 but if you go under 70 on the 5 north toward Bakersfield, people get pissed lol.

Could have been the cruise? I know on the 2nd-gen it has a tendency to lay on it HARD on hills?

Could be, I usually use it but not for that length of time that I was on this trip. That and rack/lights +cold weather I could see adding up to a substantial MPG hit.

Might be related but I think I need to get my alternator checked at Vatozone today, when I try rolling up my power windows with my truck shut off they go up suuuuuuuuuuper slow lately. God forbid I try rolling up both at the same time, it's like they have no power at all. When the truck's on they're fine. Battery is a few years old but I got it checked about a month ago and it tested out fine.

More likely a battery issue than a alternator issue

Yeah like @MadTaco461 said I wouldn't worry about the alternator with the truck off especially if it runs fine when it's on. I would think cold weather would HELP not harm... although I dunno what winter formula+supercharger does to performance?

Thanks for the tips, I'll look more closely at the battery and clean the terminals.

Could also be your window whatever it's called. Can't think of the words for it. That what happened to mine on my xterra until it just stopped working all together. I replaced the motor and the other thing which again can't remember the name of

At Pepboys/Autozone and such you can buy a little cigarette adapter that takes a 9v and will preserve your radio settings. Remove negative terminal and scrub with baking soda+water and one of those battery terminal cleaner things. Then remove the positive side and do the same. Replace in reverse order.

    EDIT

Apply that spray on red terminal shit to keep them from corroding further as well. You can also use dielectric grease or a conductive grease to keep them clean.

It was awfully 'pingy' on the drive up in 4th/5th gear, more-so than usual so I suspect there's something different at play.

ECU may still need to tune itself to the different fuel behavior?
