Before I complain to do want to say I appreciate the OP for the work to find what seems to be a good quality/affordable set up. I did the Fogs, headlights and reverse lights this past week. I love the fogs and tails. The headlights look great too but the light output isn't near what the stock bulb is. I will probably be taking them out soon and doing something different with the headlights. Wanted to give future buyers the heads up. I like the idea of going to a LED bulb but I need something more powerful.

I know this is an LED conversion thread, and I did convert the rest of my lights to LED, but I went with the Diode Dynamics 5k HID low beams. Unlike reports about The Retrofit Source bulbs shaking, these donot shake or vibrate. One caveat is that I have not tried the TRS bulbs in this vehicle, so I do not have a valid control.

Definitely cross-check the bulb sizes, but I think the sizes are the same. As long as the bulb size is the same as the ones I posted, then they should work.

Just recently switched out all interior and exterior lighting for my Taco. Not much resource out on the web for this 3rd Gen. took me a week to research all correct fitment, correct bulb, correct wattage, and proper wiring. I spent about $180 and labor and I am satisfied with the result.

Here are some few pics. It you can check it out on my YouTube blog for part descriptions. Sorry about the narration, it's my first time blogging and not well greased in area.

I went with Philips xtreme vision 360 in the 4000k color. Nice natural color, not blue, not too bright. They are expensive and the two I got are a very slightly different color that 99% of people wouldn't notice.

    Pictured is factory vs Plilips.

Not much difference between name brands (Putco, Philips, Sylvania, etc) and generic LED like JDM ASTAR in color or reliability when it comes to interior or exterior lighting. You are just paying 3 - 4x more for the name.

For driving light and light bars, well known brands like Rigid does have exceptional better value in reliability, build, and performance.

    Thanks for the recommendation.

I see a big difference in 4k v 6k for interior lighting. Exterior I probably don't care to pay extra for warmer color and would like brighter lamps. JDM are generally 3-4 times more lumens than the philips in that size... I think that might be too bright for interior; but, would be great for exterior.

Usually 4,000k are little yellowish like halogens than white. Wattage is what determines the brightness of the light. Even if you get 8,000k light with only 2.5Watts, it will give off lower brightness than your factory 5W halogen bulbs.

OPT7 is running 7 days sales right now for their FluxBeam LED bulbs.

    Normal $179.95
    Sale $99.95
    Until 12/19 20% off and only $79.95

There are tons of good review in Amazon from Tacoma owners.

This sales is direct from OPT7 and not from Amazon

Just installed OPT7 LED in the low beam and fog lights. Not that great without the figs on but with them one, it's really good even light. I'm going to order another set for high beams.

I did the entire exterior on my '17 and they worked. Couldn't speak to the interior though. I'm actually selling some fog bulbs like the OP had posted.

Morimoto XB fog lights in! Now to add H11 LED bulbs for the low beams. Is there a consensus now on the best bulbs to get ?
