    Haha!!!!

So you literally will get more money on trade in if it's stock?

    Always kinda wondered that

If trading in, you definitely want to be stock.

If selling Private it could go either way, but most of the time you're better off parting it out and selling as stock... which is what I'm doing.

Tacoma Day was a busy day...1 piece at a time :bananadance:

Swapped out my the backplate from my passenger side mirror with heater to a new one. Easy peasy with a heat gun. 2 minute job.

I installed the TRD Cold Air Intake with the AFE Cone Dry Filter.
Honestly, kinda disappointed in the quality of the TRD intake. I expected better. The sound is "meh" kinda annoying. I'm spoiled by my Hemi / Jeeps with CAI's. They sound so much better then they breath. The 4.0 V6, well it's just not there. Again, MEH.

Found a 2015 being parted out on Kijiji locally. Swapped over some new(er) parts into my 2006.

    Out with the old...

    Neked!

    New(er) black carpet
    [IMG]

The idea is to two-tone the truck with a fair share of tan / black interior. May just say F-it and use a vinyl spray paint to paint all the trim black. Once the leather is in, I will have a better idea / direction.

Grabbed the console out of the rolled 2015 as well. Note sure if I will keep the black or not once the leather is in. May chose the tan console with a black leather armrest top to help with the two tone edition taco.

Finally found the newer updated power outlet trim piece with the additional switches. From the rolled 2015 It came with factory heated seats, so I have the controllers, now I just need the relays and heating elements.

I lucked out and found a great deal on a new set of Katskin black leather seat covers for a 2009-2011 for the cost of cheap-o seat covers.

Going to attempt to install these covers myself. Should be fun. Need to order some hog ring pliers.

Swapped in some 2011 TRD seats into my 2006 due to the good good deal on the Katskin covers. Since the patterns are different I needed seats to match the leather covers!

Covers are a bit dirty from not being handled carefully. But that doesn't matter because LEATHER [soon].

To anyone wondering what the difference is... These seats are night and day difference from my 2006 base seats on every level. They a so much more firm. The comfort is amazing. Makes the truck feel and ride like a completely different vehicle with the TRD seats. Can't wait to add the leather.

Trying to decide on which steering wheel to add to the truck...

    2011 Tacoma / 2015 Tacoma

    Highlander

These will all fit the 2nd gen Tacoma. The airbag is the same between the 2011 Tacoma and Highlander, the only difference is the airbag cover due to switch arrangement.

Disappointed in my DIY retrofits. The adjustment screws seem to do nothing at all. I was sure that these were working before sealing everything up. They are perfectly level but I can't raise or lower the beam pattern. Currently aimed too low. Usable, but not ideal. Still better than stock. At least I'm not worried about blinding oncoming traffic.

2 weeks in and moisture buildup on the inside is insane. Not sure where I went wrong but these were well sealed with butyl tape. FAIL
    [IMG]

    Suggestions?

    Edit: Forgot this...

Grabbed the accessory console from the 2011, Although I have the SR5, I double checked and the harness is NOT pre-wired for the temp sensor in the front of the grill. There isn't even a pig-tail for the temp sensor. Looks like I'll have to wire it up the hard way. PITA.

    Compass works! lol.

I also grabbed the Gentex temp / compass mirror from the 2015.
Need to wire in the mirror too. Without power, it's defaulted to "auto dim setting" so it's usable as-is without being hooked up.

Happy to say I received my ImMrYo Bracket today!

Unfortunately the ImMrYo bracket isn't compatible with the Gentex mirror using the factory window mount. This mirror sits too high! The Gentex mirror can't use this bracket because it collides with the headliner. What a shame. Will probably remove the mount and then glue another on. But then again that defeats the purpose of this bracket too, so for sale? Anyone?

Picked up a used Supercharger and Bullydog from a 2009 Taco... Need to verify what is here and what is missing. Will do a complete tear down to verify everything is to spec. Need to check clearances. Looks like no fit kit or install kit. FML. Will need to source one... Should have just jumped in on the last group buy. FML.

The Bully Dog appears to not be compatible with the 2006 Manual Transmission truck... Not sure what the deal is. See related post HERE -- Help?

Yeah I made like 1.5k or so selling the stuff I took off my truck before trading him in. Still left on a few things though, because I couldn't TOTALLY kill him. This is how I traded him in.

Goddamn KnR CAI filter was popped off when I came back to replace the burnt headlight bulb... Broke the metal retainer cuff trying to tighten it down... sonofabitch! Zip ties to the rescue for now.

Seriosuly considering going back to stock because I can hear it vibrating like a mofo and it popping off is definitely not good on the trail. Are the TRD CAI that much of an improvement over KnR?

You don't want to do that. Party of the reason to go to those higher rate springs is to leave the billies @ 0. If you're not a prerunner there is no reason to go higher than 887s.
