Someone in the family had to "one-up" me and buy a 2017 TRD Pro in "Cement". Lol

what grille is that on the QS? I saw one other 2017 QS on a dealer page with that grille. Plastidip?

 

its a standard grill. They have that an all chrome and a black one with chrome trim. Most of the sr5s have the black one. Most TRDs have all chrome.

 

Thats not the sr5 one, if I had to guess its been painted/dipped.

nope... I said most... my local toyota dealership has 25 tacomas in stock. half of them with that black grill. Maybe its a regional thing. But its IS a stock grille.

 

starting on page 3 you will see a bunch of black with chrome outline. Even a stock photo with one.

Yeah, it looks like those are all SR grilles.

The OP truck is an off-road, and appears to have the TRD grille. But it's painted to match the color scheme of the SR5. I've seen other trucks on dealer lots (browsing cars.com) like this and wondered if there was an option I missed when ordering.. But it's likely this is just a dealer added thing, not a Toyota thing..

 

maybe someone who bought an SR wanted a chrome grille and that was toyota's way of making a sale?

You've got the better tire and wheel combo!

 

the black grills are on the SR5s all the Off Roads are chrome. They come from the manufacture with Chrome.

 

Mine is a 6 speed manual = priceless, plus moonroof = priceless, plus larger rims and tires = priceless, plus QUICKSAND = there is no substitute. IMO lol

 

Mine was too, but I changed that easily...painted part of it...$50...didn't like the braces look lol

 

It's a stock TRD grille. Had a local body shop paint parts of it with matte black paint to match the trim parts...
