Good morning. Starting off the day by returning rental equipment and getting my gear back in order. One bad thing about starting your work day at 0530 is having to wait for businesses who start at 0700 to open.

Ah that's it. a dozen or so years ago, we were driving through Stockton and the little one was very much tired of sitting in a car seat. we saw the sign for pixiewood and followed it to this odd little amusement park. the kid thought it was great, my wife and I were...amused.

I remember years ago, living in Fresno and going to my aunt's in Sacramento numerous times, when we had to drive through every little town because Hwy 99 didn't bypass anything.

No stopping on 99 now. it blasts past all the little towns that charge $3.50 for a gallon of gas.

Wow, that seems pricey. What do you Californians pay in fuel tax? I fueling up for $1.71 a gallon these days.

    @Casper66

VFW Service Officer here (Alaska) was awesome getting my VA pkg submitted. They are paid positions:

    Find a Service Officer
    Bobbiejo Lazo
    VFW Department Service Officer
    Address:

    4930 Grandview Ave. NW
    Roanoke, VA 24012
    Ph:
    540-563-1437
    Email:
    serviceofficer@va.vfwwebmail.com

Worth a phone call and/or e-mail. You gotta get somebody who knows the system to help you put the package together. Just my two cents and re-enforcing the voice of your fellow Vets.

Gas is about $2.63, the places along highway 5 and 99 will gouge you.

Nice changeup this morning. Went out with my BIL for Birdies. 27 degrees out when we started. Kept the ticks down too.
Looks like Pheasant breasts on the grill for supper.

I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking at ... but suspected something vintage along those lines. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you. :)

    Morning everyone

Waking up to a cold morning but clear skies , it 55 degrees right now and not supposed to get warmer than 68 today

Those snow capped mtn peaks are all cloud shrouded right now and not sure I'll get a good pic

I still remember the family trips we took in the mid/late 60's from the Bay area up to Placerville and Volcano . Our drive took us thru Stockton thru the 99 then thru the Sacramento foothills to Ione . I've not been back there in 50 years and I bet the route we took is long gone

We used to have a trailer near Chili bar near the south fork of the American river off of hwy 49

Well enough of this going back down memory lane I've got to head to the off road store for my new wheels c/ya !!
