Transmission Guru's, I need help fast

    Good idea. When servicing, I always overfill by 0.4 quart or so. This way I know for sure that some fluid will spill out when I open the overflow plug. The first time I performed the check I hadn't added enough. I then had to get my pump back out and crawl back under the truck to add a little more.

    Tacoma in distress... I went 4x yesterday and my trans stop working, it does'nt want to go in reverse and it lags in drive. Can someone please tell me whats going on?

    Very interesting thread. I was wondering how to check the tranny fluid on this new truck, I've never had a vehicle that this was not very obvious. I wonder why toyota has you check the tranny fluid this way, seems more like checking a manual transmission.

    There is no need to check tranny fluid. It's a completely sealed system. Just need to be flushed at I think 100K.

    How much did you guys pay for the special toyota fluid because I just called and they said it was 9 bucks a quart.
