@DYC and @SupaWHITEtaco - packages are on its way to you. For the installation of the tailgate PPF, I highly recommend having a second set of hands to assist. Additionally, keeping the surface area and film moist helps with gliding the PPF in place.


I currently have 11 60"x4" strips that should work for the upper tailgate area. $30 combined with the door cups or $15 if you just want the strip by itself (price is shipped to your door). The 60"x4" tailgate strip is the same door cup protection material, Xpel Ultimate PPF which provides four layers of protection.

1. Clearcoat: 0.5 mils (0.013mm)
2. Polyurethane: 6.0 mils (0.152mm)
3. Acrylic Adhesive: 1.6 mils (0.040mm)
4. Polyester Release Liner: 3.0 mils (0.076mm)

Alright, here are some pictures of the install I did on my Tacoma. I went ahead and took off the liner on the top of the tailgate and wrapped it over so there is no gap for scratches. I'd be happy to answer any questions. Remember these are close up pictures so the bra is more visible, but if you take a step back then you can't see it at all.

Would these Xpel PPF cups guard fit 2012-2015 Tacomas?

That looks great man! Just installed the door pieces but do you have any recommendations on how to remove the plastic piece on the tailgate? I removed all the bolts but went to yank on the plastic to remove it but it didn't budge. I see its held on by clips, I just don't want to break anything on a new truck haha
