Will these fit on my 15' tundra?

Received my mount today. Took me less than 1/4 beer to install. I haven't driven with it yet but it appears to be a pretty damn solid and well machined mounting plate. If you're looking for a solid mount, buy this immediately, you won't be disappointed.

That's a prototype of our Big Squeeze tablet mount. It should be ready for sale in about a week.

That's the plan. I have one coming in this week for prototyping. No guesses yet on a timeline, but I'll keep this thread updated and start a new one in the 2nd gen forum when it's ready for testing.

Got my mount in the mail late last week and finally got around to installing it Sunday. So far, I only have the plate the ball attached because the rest is going to be a bit more custom for my use. The mounting plate is very well made and definitely a great purchase. Thanks for making a quality product that looks good!

wileydavis, how much pressure do these locking tabs put on the vent rings? Are the lengths of the tabs preset and act as a cam once rotated or does it pull against the ring? Not sure on the details of how it's fastened. I'm very interested in this as using my iPhone is much easier than using the factory entune nav unit.

I'm considering the complete bundled package and hope to hear from you soon. I'm in the auto industry and work in automotive interior design, so the engineering side of me is very curious.

Not sure. But I'll drive out to the dealership and check. If not i can definitely make one that does.

@GPsevinSixx - there's a lip inside the vent and this mount has a boomerang shaped backing plate that sandwiches the lip, clamping to the inner face of the vent. it has a lot of surface area right under the ram ball location where the load gets transfered to the vent. At the bottom of the ring there's a smaller clamp mostly to keep the RI g from flexing.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I placed the order for the bundle. We're gonna look at your design closely ;) and suggest this to our dedicated human factors engi's to see if the Ridgelines can make use of something this useful!
Hopefully, you can expand your design to other vehicles. This is much better than those stick on magnetic balls with potential failure of adhesion to our interior plastics that constantly release oils. Many of us here have complained about that during our design studies and investigations on a better way of placing our gadgets. Their best solution is to having a phone projectile nestled somewhere, but that takes up so much space when figuring out how to place all this silly giant cupholder nonsense for those who like to store their drink pails in the center console.

It's definitely getting harder and harder to come up with mounting points in new vehicles. I have not had great luck with adhesives on dash plastic. Between the oils you mention and the cold/hot cycles, they're not my favorite solution.

    That'd be awesome!
Do you think it will be sturdy enough to mount an iPad air?
I have a mini, but prefer the air for my navi setup.

It definitely is on the Tacoma. I'll know more this evening after testing on the Tundra.

You can mount the vent ring 360 degrees so that the RAM ball is wherever you like it. Then with the Perfect Squeeze, you can articulate it to whatever position the 3" RAM arm will reach. So yeah, you could mount the ipad below the vent.
