Not an issue of being in the incorrect gear, if I'm going 60mph cruising in 5th gear and I want to accelerate, it will ping after downshifting into 4th. I need to get the 7th injector. And yes, always use 91 octane and I have colder iridium spark plugs.

I don't have a boost gauge. Heavy into boost though.

U know boost is load dependent and not soley throttle dependent?

I can climb a steep grade at 3500ish rpm and pull vacuum

Yep. I was at half throttle, heavy acceleration, on flat road and the S/C was growling pretty heavy. It was a sudden burst of throttle, not easing into it at half throttle.

Ok ur first post sounded like u were maintainin at half.... so stabbing the gas how long does it remain lean before it richens up at the point of making boost?

As long as I held the throttle position during the acceleration it remained constant. I didn't want to hang out in that lean state for long so I gave it more throttle to see how it responded and like you hit a switch it instantly richened up into the 11's/12's. I didn't hold that for long because I didn't have room.

One more thing, my AFR is mounted downstream of the cats.

Unfortunately it does seem like first gens are more prone to pinging issues and seem to require the 7th injector, whereas 2nd gens it seems like that's only sometimes necessary for the smaller pulleys

Well hell, what's another $500 at this point?

Might as well have bought a Harley Davidson or a boat.

This made me audibly "heh heh".

    ¿Por que, señor?

The WB sensor needs to be upstream of the cat... that is crucial.

Plan to do this myself as well, after the Y-pipe. Should only skew the reading slightly according to @Torspd I was about to go 1 per side, but figured I'd ask Mr. Boost himself and I'm glad I did. Only need to purchase 1 AFR gauge not 2 lol

All this talk of boost and AFRs, I need to get my gauges mounted up. Would be nice to know what is actually happening under the hood :) Hopefully this weekend!

Final thoughts on the BD tuner:

I spent some time with Bully Dog on the phone and verified I have the correct tune installed (we started over). I *might* have accidentally installed the 2.85 tune at first - but if anything it would just be a little too rich at WOT so no harm done. It's running great

But it is definitely a finicky tuner - I think part of the trouble I ran into was that the Magnuson files were already loaded on the SD card prior to initial connection to the truck, and there are some glitches in the code that may appear depending on when your tuner was assembled/programmed and/or the initial steps you follow. For example, you are supposed to select "Stock" before you get "code 550" and run the update agent - but I couldn't and had to select the "premium 2.85" for it to continue. However once I got Code 550 and ran the update and reconnected to the truck, I was able to finally select the stock Magnuson tune (the correct version for my truck with a 3.0 pulley).

Tl/DR: DO follow the instructions in the 1-page handout that comes with the charger installation instructions. DO NOT follow the tuner quick-start guide or connect the tuner to your PC until AFTER you have done the initial connection to the vehicle.

    How?
I wear my seatbelt. I more so want to disable the lock/unlock sound. I've done it before based on info in a thread here but one day I left a light on and the battery went dead. The annoying sound reset when I charged the battery.

In the main menu there is a special functions (or maybe special features). Vehicle specific stuff. There's an option in there to disable it.
