Richland Rd staging area - Partial Private Property/closed

HEADS UP GUYS GOING TO URE THIS WEEKEND






Hi Everyone – Yesterday the fire restrictions were extended to the Uwharrie National Forest. We wanted to get the word out to people that might be planning to recreate here to let them know what to expect. Can you help spread the word to your contacts. Let them know that if they have gas grills, Coleman or propane stoves, propane or kerosene heaters, and electric heaters for sites that have electric hookups that those items can be used. We are not allowing any charcoal or wood fires due to the dangers the hot embers pose if they blow in the wind or if they are dumped out onto the ground with all of the litter and duff. We have had several fires just this week on the Uwharrie NF due to human carelessness.

Question: is this an all day thing Sat finishing up like 7ish or before dark? Or whats the plan so far...

 

All weekend. But the Richland run will wrap up for dinner at Capones hopefully.

 

Oh ok so 7-8? Reason I'm asking is I'm planning on bringing a passenger but she needs to be home that night

 

Lol She gonna turn back into a house maid? No real end time, can't really schedule it because bs and playing.




Or she young enough to have a kerfew?

 

She has a prior engagement Sunday..

 

Richland road is anout 4 hrs or so. Headed to the pizza place @Sandman reccommended after. Then maybe camping, Hurricane or Richland again!

 

And we are getting there about 12?

 

Some folks are meeting at the QT in Gastonia at 6am, then convoying to the walmart in Lenoir which is about another hour north.

This looks like a good trip! Is everyone camping? Kind of far for a day trip for me.

 

I know some spots near Richland, or we can camp at hurricane.

 

I am not camping, but will ride all day

So who all is coming? Is a CB necessary for this trip? I saw multiple meeting points mentioned. What is the actual start time location that everyone agrees on?

 

All I know is I'll be at the QT on the 17th looking for a bunch of Tacoma's. If someone has a plan that would be cool too. It would definitely help with packing.
