I prefer to do it by hand with a round file. Best technique for me is having the chain on the bar of the saw with lock engaged and taking a few file passes to each tooth. You want to maintain as much metal as possible just sharpening the edge of the tooth. Sharpening machines especially used by someone who doesn't give a fuck could or will over sharpen the teeth. This will remove a lot of the tooth and appear super sharp yet dull easier and faster.

Very true. And as the teeth get smaller from repeated sharpening, you need to file the rakets down.

Bit that is covered in lesson 2.

Lost another hitch cover today. How is someone going to take an unemployed motherfucker's hitch cover? I'm going to wire the next one to a claymore.

Fuck all of you chain sharpening experts.

Next meetup, I will bring my chainsaw and dull chain and buy the correct round file and you can skool me on the correct way to sharpen.

We'll have plenty of time between @stairgod and @HolyHandGrenade trying to get unstuck.

It's not hard to do a quick field sharpen with a round file, we can teach you to do that.

Really fixing a buggered up or well used blade is alot harder. And requires sharpening the cutting teth, and shaping the cutters and rakers.

I'll have to learn how to sharpen chains while at camp.
I'll be busy while we're trying to wheel.

Im aware. My uncle taught me how to use a bench grinder for sharpening. Slowly and consistently

I doubt someone stole it... ive lost mine 2 times and found it 2 times... now it sits in the door
