    Hi all,

This morning my passenger windshield wiper stopped working. Found that the teeth on the arm stripped. Where can I get a replacement arm for a decent price?

Is there a year range for Tacomas and/or 4 Runners that will work?

I think first gen is 95-04. Can't comment on 4runners though. You can also try rockauto, they're usually pretty reasonable.

Is there something wrong with you local chain auto parts store? Do they not carry them? Because that'll be a lie...

you wont be able to find the actual arm from a parts store. youll have to get it second hand.

you should be able to give it a dab of mixed JB weld to fill in the gaps and re torque it down. that should work for the rest of the truck's life. just make sure to get it positioned right the first time.

JB welding your wiper arm in place does not sound prudent. Would bugger up all sort of things if you ever need to remove the cowl for any reason.

Hence why im saying only a dab. you only need to fill in a little bit of the gap. the rest is mostly handled by the nut holding it on.

Just what caused it to come loose in the first place??

As long as the nut was snug it should have not come loose and stripped

Someone swap wiper arms on you??

Bought one at Advance or AutoZone just last year for my ex's Jeep Cherokee, it was in stock. But what do I know...

what you know is you can buy one for a jeep at advance or autozone. I work in the auto parts business. ive checked 3 suppliers that cover just about all the auto parts distributors out there. if they don't have one, probably the only way to get one for a 2000 toyota is probably through a dealer, junk yard, or through ebay

I'm only saying to try and look/call these places. Silverstar Ultra bulbs where I live cost $50 a pair, roughly $32 elsewhere in the country, so I bought them on Amazon. Trying goes a long way in life is all I'm saying.
Once the OP has exhausted his local search options, then go online...support local whenever possible, that's what's wrong with people in the world :)

Ice on the windshield. As in, I thought I had all the ice scraped off, but when turning the wipers on, the driver side went through its full motion and the passenger side was stuck. So I got the rest of the ice off, turned it on again, and the passenger side was just twitching. After trying to clean one more time, the wiper wouldn't move. My bro and I took off the wiper and the plastic teeth were stripped from where it attaches to the other metal toothed part.

Look on Oreilly's web site, find the part you need, look down below it and select "compatibility". It shows all the vehicles that will work with that part. Now you know all the vehicles you can pick from for your part.

Took it to a trusted mechanic and he took a file to it to buff out the ridge on the arm where the teeth meet, tightened it down snug and it's even better than before.
