In confused now !!! , those look like the same location you would put my KC spots on the windshield frame of my jeep

 

Same idea, different aiming. (Assuming the KCs were for forward facing light)

 

Yes the KC lights were 8" spots used for trail riding and mounted facing forward on my windshield frame of my jeep

 

And these are floods, aimed farther out so you can see the ditches on the side of the road.

Nope straight forward to see farther down the trail at night so you couldn't out drive your headlights

 

That's what got me confused over the term ditch lights as this is the set up or ditch lights you see on locomotives now and is a safety item

 

And that is what this will be for:

 

Must be an East Coast thing or ??? , never seen or heard about ditch lights pulsating or not on any vehicle here on the west coast

 

They don't pulsate. Just off or on. Ignore all Colorado trucks.

 

Only lights I ever used were from KC and their Daylighter series using a spot beam and spread beam and 130w lights

Now you'll think I've lost it when I mention I used to run rear facing amber or blue lights also called dust lights on my jeep . these were used on trails that were extremely dusty . They warned other jeeps that there was a vehicle in front of them .I had my dust lights mounted on my roll cage facing rearwards

These dust lights are commonly used in SCORE desert racing

 

That actually makes a lot of sense. We had a rain light on the formula car I used to crew for. Since it was open wheel, in the rain it was impossible to see the car through the rooster tail, without it.

Ditch lights are also used for turns at night, as the headlights won't show what's around the bend.

The ones in the back are for warning people in dusty roads and as emergency work lights. they are also called FU lights for people that hit you with their highbeams.

 

Winter in Texas ... So you put on a sweat shirt ? :} LOL I can say I have seen it cold in TX but that was twice in 7 years lol one was an ice storm the other was minus 12 with the wind chill on the flight line lol did you know Air tools will freeze up at that temp lol I do .. now :}
