yup, I spent close to a day trying to figure out something towards the center or rear, but the pan is in the way for everything off the back.

yep same here. While my buddy finished welding up the other side i was under it looking at options for the limit straps. I also need to hurry up and finish my bump stop extensions so i can go a little harder at the mall.

Just got a new to me transmission installed along with a new clutch. Also replaced the power steering pump, hydraulic lines, steering rack, and tie rods. Ever since I've been getting super shitty gas mileage. Any ideas as to where I could have fucked something up? Went from 18 mpg a tank to 13

    It's the tie rods...

I would say maybe the transmission being worn differently or belts too tight/loose after the replacement. It's such a fickle thing tracking MPG's and could be the winter gas.

I'm gonna write it off as driving into the wind for now and hope it gets better.
I'd take an auto at this point. $3k later and it still isn't a smooth shift. But at least it goes into gear now. So I'll just rock it until it's LS swap time.

Lots of aftermarket support. Sky's the limit as opposed to building like a 2UZ or something of that nature.

    LS3, T56, and an Atlas

LS Swap is the easiest and most aftermarket availability. Cost to HP ratio is by far the best.

I really don't know enough about swaps to make a valid argument. I wish I had researched them more when I dropped my last 5VZ in and next go around, I'm definitely going to do something different. But next time, I'll definitely be looking at diesels more than anything.

Any of you guys know if there is a part number for the skinny black flares rear door mounting clips? I have 5, but need 8. Can't figure them out on the parts sites.

Lately my lowest has been 16 and a lot of city driving. Gotta love winter gas...

Run a few more tank through it before you start to worry... Did you put fluid in the transmission? lol

Small block chevys are small, cheap, and everywhere. You ever watch Roadkill? They pick up SBC with a tranny for a grand all day long...
