Did not. Bead looked uniform. Thorough heat into the backing strap. Good tie in. But one little 1/8" spot they didn't like how the weld was on the bevel. So texas here I come. Shit happens. They said to come back in 30 days and retest. They'll put my name in since my weld looked good. I just had a bad day pretty much

 

That sucks. Seems like nerves got you, but i'm sure you will kick their ass next time.

 

It happens. It's part of the game. I just wasn't ready for this step yet. I knew nothing about nuclear and didn't realize how tight they are with everything. 0 tolerance for any mistakes. I wanted the job cause it'd be cool to work at such a high level of skill but I just wasn't ready. I'm young. I got plenty time to learn from this experience and be more prepared for the next one. Who knows, maybe I will take the opportunity and come back in 30 days.

 

That's too bad, but good attitude to have. Learning experiences are always good, too bad it's half a country away to test. At least now you know what is expected.
